DeHacked & new enemies?

Is it possible to make a brand new enemy in addition to the existing ones in DooM? I don't want to replace the existing enemies, but I want to create a new enemy with its own frames and behavior. I remember reading somewhere that it's not possible to add a new thing, but I'm checking just to be sure.

As an alternative, is it possible for me to replace a thing that I never intend to use (say, the tall red torch) but add all the necessary frames for a new enemy and modify the behavior accordingly?

I'd like to point out that I have never used DeHacked to modify things before, but I'm reading everything I can about it so that I get familiar with at least the basics.
