Guest cocoon Posted May 2, 2000 I wonder how much faster one can play through the doom games with, for example, zdoom when mlook and jumping is allowed. I'd like to see some optimal demos in it for sure. I would hardly count it as the fastest times though... 0 Share this post Link to post
Linguica Posted May 2, 2000 I do know that Adam Hegyi absolutely despises ZDoom, he thinks the physics are completely different and wrong compared to doom2.exe. 0 Share this post Link to post
Guest cocoon Posted May 2, 2000 Yeah that is why I said I didn't want to count the demos as records.. Just a cool comparison that's all. But I guess that making optimized times with zdoom would take quite a bit of time.. Just like it did with doom2.exe 0 Share this post Link to post
myk Posted June 2, 2000 Jumping and mouselook don't work well with the original levels - I hate to use them when playing id's levels, especially Doom2 (the skies get screwed-up (especially when there's a hole in the ground - one of those that lead to another map, like at the end of map20). And if you use no autoaim (as you should with those features - especially mouselook), gameplay is much slower (and it's easier to die). 0 Share this post Link to post
