EDGE & ZDoomGL combined

How about merging these bad boys together for a REAL kickass port? the MD2 models will be perfect for the floor over floor method.

EDGEGL is coiming along nicely, should bea new build in the 1.25 release, and model support is planned for a future release.

Personally I would like to see a combination
of Zdoom (ACS is extremely useful, especially with Boom support.
So are hubs.), along with CSDOOMs client -> server capabilities
and EDGEs extrafloors and DDF files. That would be my ultimate
Doom port. Oh, and OpenGL / 3DFX / Direct3d with MD2 support,
of course. (And its about time textures didnt need to use
the Doom pallete)

But of course, it'll never happen. Its like they
say, if you want something done right - do it yourself.
If only I could.

i just hope they make the jumping higher, i cant sem to adjust it. i like zdooms jumping its perfect. adn they should merge it with jdoom thats probably the best looking port

It has always been an opinion of mine that if all the programmers worked together we would of got here 18 months ago. Before any one mentions ORGE, that failed because of lack of time by essential people and squabbling by non-coder people. I still think it is possible. I'd be than happy to talk about to anyone as we could develop a really top notch engine quicker than we are already.

randy *is* working on a new engine for zdoom which will be as configureable as edge is...
