Well this is my first post, first post ever on any board really. And I'm glad there making a new doom, cuz the first one sucked, thats what I think, you coulnd't jump of look around or anything. Futher more I find no reason to play it anymore, its not as good as Duke Nukem, or Half Life. And the second one was just lazy, they could have done more than just throw in a new weapon amd some new monsters, still not very good. I hope it's alot more like Half Life, with less monsters, and alot more realisem(sp), Doom1 and Doom2 had to many big groups of monsters, I liked the quake series more than Doom really, but again I look forward to a better game in Doom 3.

let me guess, you started playing computer games about 3 years ago...and first played doom on a pentium 300 or something... back when doom was new it was the most kick ass game around. i still play doom because of 30% sentimental feelings, 30% because it still kicks ass and 30% because its the game i am best in. no 10%.

Well, First let me says that the above sig was a one time thing, and has been changed, and I care not your opinios of ICP. However I admit it was to much to say that the first doom sucked, because when it first came out I'm sure it was a great game and stuff, but the point I ment to make was that now a days I(I being the key word) can't really play it much anymore beacase I feel it has become obsolete. I never said I hated the concepet though which again is why I say that I'm looking forward to Doom3. With so many other games out there I just don't play the original Doom much anymore. So I look forward to the new generation of Doom games(Doom3) and the advaces takin in the next generation. Oh and back on the subject of big groups of monsters have you guys ever played Serious Sam? Nice grapics and Lots of monsters to splatter, recommended for thoses true die hard Doom fans out there.

There are mods that allow you to do that and more. Look at ZDoom for example...
About realism : I hope there will be some in the new Doom too.

If he looks forward to doom then presumably he likes the fps genre, and a game is judged on playability and atmosphere. Serious sam certainly looks great but is shit compared to doom, the enemies are crap and for some reason the minigun only fires 1200rpm. I never said I didn't like Doom and in my last post I retracted my comment about Doom1 Suking. I only said I don't play it as much and what so annoying about Anticipation for Doom3? Futhermore, Atmosphere and playablity are not the ONLY thing to judge games on, but i will admit Doom is very rich with thoses two elements....

Please consult my other posts I have retracted my comments. Hey 21 replies on my firsts thread, yay. I have done what I wanted to on my firt thread, get attention and maybe get flamed a few times. Now I feel welcomed and hope to be a some what productive part of the Doomworld community. And to further clarifiy I retract all negitive comments and statments about Doom1&Doom2. I love Doom and in reality I hope not to many things will be changed in Doom3.

However after reading other posts it seems that things like hordes of monsters will be a thing of the past, although I do like realizem I don't want to much of it in Doom3. NO I don't really like Quake and Half Life over Doom, and if you don't believe me well thats too bad, I don't care IF you don't believe me.

Never say something like that about Doom when talking to an entire room of insane Doom adicts. Its bad for you health.

OK, this is weird. First you start bashing the DooM games and introducting yourself, and that's a big no-no here. I know DooM sucks by today standards, but God, you have to be relative here...the game came a looong time ago, before the word "FPS" existed.

Second, that sig. A signature is often used to identify someone, make a funny comment or post several lines of URLs. Since when do we need ENTIRE song lyrics tagged to every single post you make?

Third, your erratical behavior makes you look quite strange. Like if you were a completely different person, sig, face and more importantly : thoughts, have changed drastically.
A person who often changes perspective that much makes poor forums members. We can only give our "IMO"s here...

As I pointed out before, the first sig was a one time thing, because of my first post you and/or others may think it strange, stupid, weird, or dorkish, really I doesn't matter my point has been made.

Secondly Disorder pointed out that the first face belonged to some one eles and that I would "get in alot of trouble" if I kept it so I changed it. No big deal, atleast not to me.

Lastly my thoughts, you say my opinions changed drasticlly when I thought I had made it clear that thoses were not(really my true opinions) in my other posts. My intent was to 1)get attention and anonnce my presence, 2) Get utterly flamed, and 3) see how many would respond and who really cared. I must say it was refreshing to see how many really did care. Once again now i feel a though I am a real part of the community, regardless of what you all think. Yes I am a strange person but I get by and believe it or not I have some good ideas and opinions, but that will be for you to judge I guess.
