Recommended Posts

If you mean using the thermal paste as adhesive, I'd strongly advise against that. Can't say I have any solutions though.

My laptop needs a new fan. Its been burning out lately. Red ring of death with no red ring. Or I just need a new laptop, but I really like this one even if its severely underpowered.

Why do the spacers need to be stuck to the motherboard? It's just a protective film. The screws will hold them in place once they're installed.

so i shouldn't worry too much about the plastic spacers? So not putting the adhesive tape wont change anything regarding the CPU cooler?

Sorry this is my first custom build.

I'm not sure why the plastic spacers need a protective film on them, as they're plastic and shouldn't be conductive. As long as you don't leave them out and assemble it like the installation guide shows in step #7, you should be fine.
