I've seen people jet ski, and go swimming in the Hudson River. Which is pretty disgusting, considering the fact that raw sewage flows into the river whenever it rains a lot.

I've seen some fish, and go crabbing off the docks too. But I assume it may just be for sport, rather than consumption. At least I hope for their sake.

EDIT: People who eat the fish, are also ingesting PCBs, and higher than average levels of mercury. The river is loaded with toxic waste:
