random new update here from someone who is random

pretty much followed dewsey's things. there are still things I personally hate about the map anyways, like the NE room or that ugly hallway connecting like four parts in the S. might find a fitting texture for that one. also thinking about changing the music. still not worried about detail. also now has 8 starts (it had 8 before I first submitted it, maybe I should start ignoring the rule about having 16 starts).

Thinking of renaming my map to "The Bridge on the River DWANGO", if only because there are no pies in evidence on my map (and I can't think of much better puns on "Bridge of Spies" - "Bridge of Sighs"? "Bridge of Whys"? "Bridge of Dies"?).

I get the feeling "DWANGO" isn't the best pun to use in lieu of "Kwai", though.

Bridge of Pies made me laugh well enough. While "bad movie puns" were recommended, nobody ever said if the puns had to be Doom related. Furthermore, food puns are a regularity in this circle.

So I get your map has a bridge and you want a pun name for that. How about something really dumb, like Bridge Jones' Diary? Or something kinda clever, like A Bridge To Frag?

I really like that second one. I knew about A Bridge Too Far, but "far" -> "frag" never occurred to me.

(I really just wasn't prepared for 32in24 this year, was I? Bleh.)

A day or two advance probably wouldn't be such a bad idea. That way people can plan ahead a bit to contribute, if possible, and build up some hype. The theme/details can still be left hidden until the session starts.

Yes. Ostensibly supposed to be one 24-hour session a week from the initial 24-hour session. In practice, it's a lot fuzzier than that; I recall 32in24-14's lasting a few weeks.

HEY EVERYBODY!

Let's make movie billboards!

We've had a distinct lack of rampant commercialism for fake products since Diet 32in24 and that needs to change. So if you have a good idea for a graphical component to a movie, let's add it.

Poster textures should be 256x128. I wish we could do them vertically rather than horizontally, but the 256x128 size is probably the most legible we're gonna get for text. For inspiration, check out the links that aren't dead yet in the Diet 32in24 thread.

And remember; joke movie themed! Feel free to contribute (or get your friends to contribute) even if they haven't participated in mapping.
