Death state sound

Is it possible to play a sound in one of a monster's death state frames that activates nearby enemies? The point is that I'm using a silenced pistol but when I kill an enemy that is in front of another living enemy, the latter won't even notice his comrade dying and will remain idle. I'd like to make it so that the death scream of an enemy plays a sound that doesn't reach more than 256 pixel radius and behaves as a gunshot from the player.
