Is that a Cacodemon in The Last of Us??

As the title says, but more specifically, is that a Caco on Ellie's backpack? Or is a knockoff/homage to Doom?

That purple thing? I doubt it.

First of all it's purple (as mentioned) and it has those "cat ears". Other than that it's no more similar to a cacodemon than to any other "generic, round, one-eyed monster" (i.e. a beholder, sand its appendages).

What's the point of a movie adaptation of a story-based game? Just seems completely redundant. Unless of course it's just a film set in the same universe.
