Let's Make Some =<1-hr speedmaps.

This isn't a community project or anything fancy like that. It just exists for lighthearted fun. I want some short, low-commitment maps to play, and I've been making some myself and enjoying them so might as well post them.

Mine are all in Boom format, because that's what the my default GZDB config is, and have HMP/UV.

I'll edit the OP with my new maps as they come.

not too much to say, entertaining for me. things like this tend to be very revealing with what kind of mapping someone does on auto-pilot. several setups felt reminiscent of your other speedmaps :p

You're allowed to test it once or twice and make tweaks. Just so you don't post a broken level, at the very least. :p

Therapy





To be fair, I made this wad a few weeks ago to see how I could make something with the most amount of replay value in the least amount of time. This is a basic rocket launcher blastfest but its pretty tricky (for me) to beat, and the chaos is really calming for my nerves :P

It took me about 30-40 minutes to make. Thankfully, after it was done I spent two hours playing it over and over.

Went over an hour on both of the latest ones, mostly bug-fixing; will try to do something simpler and less prone to breaking next time.

What's really appealing to me about this is how I can spend an hour or so making a map that I play multiple times over the next several days. I love the work:enjoyment ratio and I'm having a lot of fun mapping for once. :)

Compatibility: Vaniila or limit removing (tested on gzdoom and doom retro since on win10 gzdoom crushes for some reason, even on the most newer version of said port)

Build Time: 70 minutes, screw the rulez

Description: Crusher speed mapped remake with a twist. Is the first map i've made when i seen this thing, and since looks like there "no problems" for a higher build time than the 60 minutes one, so here we go.

No pic because i'm horrible.

EDIT: Oh gosh, here's another one!

It is designed for use with GZDoom. There is probably a variety of bugs.
This actually took closer to 2 hours but oh well here's the end result.

Speedycrush has a cool idea, tense for such a tiny map.

Keen Rush

Build Time: 1 hour

For the intended experience, play it in ZDoom or another port which makes self-referencing sectors block hitscan shots. They are intended to prevent you from hitting the Archvile while he can still hit you! But it doesn't seem to work in either vanilla or PrBoom-plus.

If I had more time, I'd make it so that the Archvile would (somehow) revive the Imps infinitely. :P

Nice gimmick! I played it on GZDoom and the AV resurrected some imps.
