I need to commission a 3D modeller

Recommended Posts

I want to get this dumb character turned into a posable 3D model. As I intend to use prerendered sprites for characters instead of models, there are no technical constraints like low-poly or anything like that.

Anyone out there that'd be willing to take this job on, and if so, for how much?

I can provide texture work.

Good thing this isn't 1994 or you'd be commissioning a sculptor ;)

I'm still working on layouts too, got a few good ideas sitting somewhere between Doom and Mario64.

I already have model which you required.
It looks like this:

Still need some optimization... Very raw stuff

I'd do it myself, except all my experience is in modelling/rigging around extremely low polycounts. So to produce anything worth prerendering is probably out of my league at the moment.

Well hot damn, I wasn't expecting anyone to just up and do it on their own. Looking good so far! Huge thanks! How would you like to be compensated?

I notice the filename says "fox" in it, worth noting that it's actually a cat. I'd like the backpack and goggles to be removable components.

Here's something you can use as a face texture:

I have no idea.

Year ago i wanted create game in furry style but it was goddamn delayed...
Ammm... You need HD character with 2048x2048 or it's too high?

Also I don't know you know something in Blender3D or not.

I have no idea how to do UV mapping. Can you texture the model too? The texture itself doesn't have to look good, I can redo the skin myself, it just needs to be on the model.

If this turns out as well as it's promising to, I can certainly hire you on for more assets later down the road.

I was thinking some kind of payment was in order. Does 50 USD sound fair to you? Though my wallet is feeling rather light these days, I can go higher if necessary.

If money doesn't interest you for some reason, I can do some 2D artwork or music for you.

I insist on compensating you in some way, it's only fair.

It doesn't need to be that high, I'm probably gonna render him at 128 pixels tall. Having it that resolution wouldn't hurt, though.

BTW, do you think you could lengthen the shorts and shorten the boots a bit?

This is the color scheme I had in mind:

50 USD? Sound more than fair =D ... if this possible send to QIWI wallet but we will discuss it in private.
Anyway i would recommend you to learn (at least) basic stuff in Blender3D. How to export that model in another engine and so on...
UV Texturing... Normal maps and Rigging i will do by myself. Had experience before.

Nope... It's fox not cat... Fox!
Anyway that progress...
Not painted yet: Jacket, Backpack, Glasses, Eyes, belts, Colt.

Such gamma is acceptable?
Another painting stuff will takes 1-2 days + rigging (2 days)... It's so boring and takes so much time...

It really is a cat. A lynx, to be specific. I'm not really sure why you're not following the spec. The colors are all wrong, and he's supposed to have pockets.

Mind sending me that model skin to work on? I'd rather be the one to paint it.

Cat? Hmmm... Okey...
Send? You can try SodaFox.Blend
That model finished in 35%.
After repainting - drop here screens then to redraw it as you want.

Correcting color and adding pockets is easy.
