Orchid87 Posted January 21, 2016 Which one is the most fitting to the Doom hellish setting? The one that could be the Doom anthem? In my opinion it's Doom 2 MAP28's Getting too Tense. When I think of Doom this music piece comes to my mind instantly. Especially that bass part at 0:37. https://youtu.be/bQe4lb9aQ78?t=37s It also was remixed for Doom 3 trailer: https://youtu.be/ARhzBrXVXKg?t=2m19s I believe that Doom ps1 theme is a homage of sorts, at least it sounds similar https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=atdyHvLhJXo 0 Share this post Link to post
ETTiNGRiNDER Posted January 21, 2016 I think Doom 95 had a good choice when they went with E2M6, even though it's got a bit of a different tone from most of the OST. I've also always been partial to E3M3, too, though. 0 Share this post Link to post
joe-ilya Posted January 21, 2016 Doom is the doomiest doom MIDI in doom. "Doom" is the MAP05 MIDI from doom 2. 0 Share this post Link to post
razorback Posted January 21, 2016 I usually turn the music off, although the doom metal makes the music much cooler, since its recorded with real instruments. 0 Share this post Link to post
Gez Posted January 21, 2016 I can't stand Getting Too Tense for too long. It's a good track but it's very repetitive and I find it quickly tiring. IMO, the doomiest tracks in Doom include Suspense, Sign of Evil, Demons on the Prey, They're Going to Get You, Sinister, and Waltz of the Demons. In Doom II, I'd list Shawn's Got The Shotgun, Into Sandy's City, The Demon's Dead, and Waiting for Romero to Play. Also, the text screen music for both games. antares031 Posted January 21, 2016 "The End Of DOOM" gets my vote for the most doomish music. But as a Doom anthem, I'll pick "At Doom's Gate" with no hesitation. 0 Share this post Link to post
Cynical Posted January 21, 2016 Doom 1: Nobody Told Me About Id Doom 2: Into Sandy's City 0 Share this post Link to post

LittleInferno Posted January 22, 2016 In the Dark, for me. Unless it uses Fretless bass, in which to hell with it. 0 Share this post Link to post

Chewyninja69 Posted January 26, 2016 I would say just about any "song" from the Playstation port of Doom would be fitting/apt. 0 Share this post Link to post

june gloom Posted February 13, 2016 Gonna have to go with Dave D. Taylor Blues. It's the perfect mix of the soundtrack's metal music with its more atmospheric elements. 0 Share this post Link to post
Torturephile Posted February 14, 2016 When I think of doom, I think of the slower and more atmospheric tracks. To me, "Sign of Evil" wins due to its cold, slow, dark, and creepy tone. It's build-up also contributes to its doomy feel. 0 Share this post Link to post
Frisky Posted February 14, 2016 At Doom's Gate, E1M1. 'nuff said. But if you're looking for a serious answer, I'd probably say the unused "We Die Young" track. But if you're looking for a serious and NOT UNUSED answer, then E2M1's "I Sawed the Demons" 0 Share this post Link to post

Dark Halls is a pretty moody track that generally don't get played that often in PWADs. the text screen music from both games are pretty Doomy, too, and Nobody Told Me About Id is pretty good from Doom 1, while Shawn's Got The Shotgun is pretty good from Doom 2. 0 Share this post Link to post

Koko Ricky Posted February 14, 2016 "Attack," the first map on PSX Final Doom. It's utterly iconic and dark. It has a huge impact on the gameplay as a kid because, far more than the midis. 0 Share this post Link to post
Tracer Posted February 17, 2016 "Sign of Evil" from e1m8 is my choice. As soon as the map starts, you hear that bent note and it sounds like the soundtrack to a suicide. 0 Share this post Link to post
Li'l devil Posted February 17, 2016 Doom 1: "Sinister". Doom 2: "Message for the Archvile". They both sound so hellish. 0 Share this post Link to post
