Billy Baron Posted February 3, 2016 Wow, чувак, probably you deserve like a $45,000 recording contract with a game developer. I almost know which game that sounded like a movie that sounded like an original recording the original composer (of that recording) you were talking about. And they took all that bad / terrible money out of it for you, and left you with your own original recording! Uh, keep up the good work! 0 Share this post Link to post
jazzmaster9 Posted February 3, 2016 This sounds amazing. It feels like a mix of Quake 1 and 2's music tbh. I hear a bit of Sonic Mayhem in the later part of the track. 0 Share this post Link to post
lazygecko Posted February 3, 2016 I was trying to emulate the guitar tone found in a couple of the Quake 1 tracks. I am still not quite sure how Trent Reznor did it. It sounds very distinct. Very extremly distorted with lots of noisy artifacts, seemingly no amp cabinet to filter off the rough edges, and EQd into a very narrow frequency range so it's still quite subtle in the mix. Maybe it's just the particular riff that makes it sound like Sonic Mayhem. Or maybe because it's in 5/4. I'm pretty sure one of the Quake 2 tracks was in 5/4. 0 Share this post Link to post
Olroda Posted February 4, 2016 Very Quake-like indeed. If you aren't making music for a Quake 1 sequel yet, you definitely should! 0 Share this post Link to post
