AryxFMX | A map

Hey all again! :) I made another map, and I want to feed everyone's imagination with it.

It is 2134. The stories about hellish invasions are gone. But you respond to a distress signal in a different planet, but a mysterious, mystical, umm.... "hellish"... force manages to down your spaceship and the entire crew is taken over.

You hide from the infection and hopes nobody's noticed you fleeing, which is true. But battling you way into a mean of transport by alien survivors that will escort you to a safe place is always the damn hard part! And if the train crashes, it isn't worthy.


Since the train crashes, MAP02 continues! But not today! For now we have this decent, medium-sized level.

The map is really short, and it isn't good. It's completely flat and bland, and the gameplay is really uninspired and totally lacks of balance. That black and yellow striped texture is ugly. Instead of creating textures from scratch for now pick them from other wads that let you use their resources; or make edits of the stock ones, like you did with the door before entering the outside. The music is awful.

This is a small level, not a medium one. Once again you don't provide enough material to make the map actually interesting—the new textures give it a bit more personality but it's just gone in an instant. Also, those archvile placements can be frustrating because there's no reliable cover to fight them in. Besides that there's almost literally nothing else to comment on.

I'm gonna echo Obsidian's porposal and say that you need to spend six months to a year just working on refinement and not posting here fishing for feedback. People don't want to listen to your music, they don't want to play your levels, and you're developing at such a slow rate that it's a waste of time responding to you. Yes, you are getting better. But you're posting so frequently and uploading every little thing that it becomes exhaustive, and I'm seriously on the verge of speculating that you're someone's troll account.

Come back when you think you definitely have a good set of maps, not just whenever you string together a few lines in a builder and bang out some notes on a keyboard. All you're right now is dragging people's perception of you through the mud.

The story is that I shouldn't have posted this map. I just wanted to post a overall improvement over Adjoining. But I'll lock this thread if 2 or more people want me to.

Instead of locking it you should just stop posting new maps for at least a month and you'll do yourself a service, and if you will then come back to post, post something in ONE thread and I personally wish it will be just a decent set of maps and not thousand BLEEPING maps you whipped up in 30 minutes and slapped mod music on them.

You won't improve in this way. What you lack is a basic knowledge of the game (seeing what you do in your "maps"), also I remember that I read some of your posts where you said that you play on ITYTD. What you need to do now is stop mapping and just play the game, get better. Play some good PWADs to see how a good map actually is.
And stop composing and release music until you have at least a good basic knowledge of music theory.

Well at least it isn't offensively awful.

Edit:
I hasten to add that I was playing with the sound muted. I think I'll give the custom 'music' a miss for now, if previous efforts are anything to go by.
