Clonehunter Posted February 21, 2016 I use W10 on my laptop, W8 on my desktop, and some ancient Mac OS on my other laptop. 0 Share this post Link to post
Halfblind Posted February 21, 2016 I still have Windows Vista on my laptop. I still use it because of the cost of upgrading is just too high with buying a new and larger HDD I just don't have the funds right now. 0 Share this post Link to post
wildweasel Posted February 21, 2016 7 on my desktop, 8.1 on my laptop (but only because friggin' Samsung doesn't seem to offer drivers for anything earlier). So far, have not seen much reason to upgrade to 10. The laptop once ran Linux Mint, but I was running into infuriating problems getting certain desirable Windows applications to work through WINE (i.e. games), in addition to wireless network support being spotty at best (not wanting to connect to my college WLAN half the time, and being a stubborn S.O.B. in regards to file sharing with Windows machines at all other times). Wound up deciding that the only reason I ever really liked Linux was its command line, and stuck Win8.1 back on it. 0 Share this post Link to post
Rayziik Posted February 21, 2016 Windows 7 because I know for a fact everything I have is compatible with it. Also no impse option? Bad poll, 0/10 would not vote again. 0 Share this post Link to post

Remilia Scarlet Posted February 21, 2016 Nearly all of my computers and laptops run Slackware Linux, including my Raspberry Pi. My desktop dual boots with it and Winblows 7. If it wasn't for my music software and some games, I'd just use Slackware. For a while, I had one computer dual booting with Haiku to play around with it. Quite fun stuff. 0 Share this post Link to post

SilverIce Posted February 21, 2016 I dual-boot Windows 10 and Linux Mint. TBH I only keeps Windows for ZDaemon and software that won't run under wine. (Also, my graphics tablet isn't supported in Linux yet.) 0 Share this post Link to post
printz Posted February 21, 2016 I'm not responding to this poll because it tries to include separate OS versions but fails to include them all. I already have a Windows 8.1 computer and there's no "other Windows" option. If the mainstream statistics say that there are more OS X users than Linux users, why the hell does the Doom community have more Linux users? 0 Share this post Link to post
Azuruish Posted February 21, 2016 I have to use Windows 8 otherwise my videocard on laptop won't work because of lame driver. Driver can't be installed on Windows 7 for example. 0 Share this post Link to post
Yuki Senmatsu Posted February 21, 2016 Windows 7 with Windows XP built in via its old hard drive so yeah, I have a duel OS. I would like to get Windows 10, but from some Tweets on Twitter, it may not be that great. Bugger :( 0 Share this post Link to post
GreyGhost Posted February 21, 2016 Windows 7, with Windows XP in a virtual machine, AmigaDOS and CBM Basic in emulators (when I don't feel like setting up hardware) all on the desktop. Raspbian on the Pi and Windows 98SE on a legacy hardware box. 0 Share this post Link to post
Avoozl Posted February 21, 2016 I currently use 10. The OS's I've used so far in order are: 98 Second Edition XP Media Center Edition 7 8/8.1 10 The last two were on the same system. 0 Share this post Link to post

Avoozl Posted February 21, 2016 As far as I know the only reason why people were saying 8 was terrible was due to the lack of the start button, I have never really had any issues with it and it only took a little getting used to. :/ 0 Share this post Link to post

(I chose the former, by the way.) But that's not the only thing people bitched/moaned about... 0 Share this post Link to post
