here's a map i was working on a month or two ago that i briefly considered submitting for nova, but i probably wont do that now

(interesting area i was designing, with my first ever use of an invisible bridge, as well as this cool little door i thought of and designed myself (although i'm sure i'm not the first, i just thought of it on my own and thought i was really cool and unique and special for a second :c))

it's based on a speedmap i started but didn't finish a while back. i unfortunately won't be able to work on this pretty much ever, since i'm in three different projects at the moment and am extremely slow at mapping. maybe i can throw together a little example map from it and release that or submit it to DWMP, and finish the map sometime much later in the future

Oh look, I can map.

 

I know several people have done the Ancient Egypt theme before, so I'm trying to do something a little different: mix techbase elements in with the Egypt.

 

Why? The UAC tried to look for artifacts that may help them defeat the demons, they all died, you have to clean up the mess. There.

I almost done with this map, it needs good gameplay planning and more linedef actions. In texture and detailing stuff, I abuse grey colour.

I was looking at my screenshots from my previous post, and couldn't help but notice that something was off. Then I realized that the super-cool custom shattered stain glass texture I made wasn't showing up for some reason, and it's like the best part ;~;

 

I don't know what happened, but I fixed it apparently. Here are some new screenshots.

384x384 speedmap made in over an hour for my Bijou Doom wad which is still going to be a thing despite personal life setbacks several months back.

 

This map will be for E3M5.

I just status'd this, but am posting it here because; and I'll be honest here; motivation's pretty low right now and the last pic got a fair few 'likes' and that helps out somewhat. More GULFENSTEIN 3D in its early stages, even if I am pecking at the thing at a snail's pace right now.

I really like how the Lake Tunnel looks like it burrows down into the ground! Turned out better than I expected.

^ I was very annoyed by how you kept scrolling thru the skill level select menu for like 20 seconds. Plz don't do that, it's not mysterious, just aggravating. :]

The map is the typical first map, not too bad. Cram stupid pointless d33teyl everywhere and it'll be fine. :]

The fighting stuff seems fine enough, nice and r3l4xXxX0rd. (relaxed)

Serious tip: for the love of god raise the ceiling of the room at 0:55. Make the room maybe 128 or 192 tall; having tall doors in low rooms like what you have looks absolutely atrocious.

 

Also please don't tell me you're making a 32-level megaWAD...
