have no original ideas feel like I need a bit more mapping practice, so I continued those edits of Maps of Chaos.

I started mapping by editing the original maps of the game so... everyone has to start from some point, editing existing content is a great starting but surely is not good keeping doing that for a long time.

Experimenting on combining Joseph Dirand with BTSX maps for Etomana map04 and do some alteration so it'll not become that obvious. it's going to be the biggest map I've done yet. the layout ate like 8 1024x squares lol.

 

I guess I'll see you guys in few weeks.

Regarding my map I'm currently making, I'm at a crossroad. I'm not sure if I wanna go for the hive shaped arena, or just a Icon of Sin fight. Obviously it's not just gonna be a regular elevator and shoot style, but I'd have to spend a little while thinking of something original. The current arena theme I have is cramped but could work if I made adjustments to it. Will provide screenshots later!

Three works in progress, two of them sitting in limbo at the moment (the first three screenshots):

 

WIP 1 - Area in progress, untouched for quite some time now.

WIP 3 - Current map I am actively working on.  Item placement plus other tweaks.  Finishing up this particular area before I move on to another.  Pardon the issue with brightness.

Almost done with this map. Now I need include gameplay, finish texturing corners and other things related to them and test until my eyes bleed, but I'm getting mapper's block again. In my eyes, this map looks good, but I still need work on it. 
I switched off monsters and decorations for better view in second screenshot.

The Nova III map I started back in June became way to big and ambitious, and I'd never finish it before I got more skill, so I put it on hold for a while and started a new map for Nova III:

If school wasn't being so strict on the homework and grades, I might have made a couple maps by now. I gotta bunch of new ideas for maps but like I said, school is being brutal and college is right around the corner.

 

Gotta prioritize life over mods, I guess.

True, real-life is more important.

 

Write down your ideas, or put them in a txt file. If you just assume that you'll remember them, you will be disappointed when you finally get time to make the maps. I learned that the hard way.
