I've been incredibly sick the last few days, but I've always wanted to try and make one of those little scenes I see people make for portfolios and stuff. I hacked together some textures, played around with lightining. ..  Total time was something like 5 hours >_> Still, first shot at it. Pretty pleased.

 

I'll probably revisit the brutalist style for a future map, and I like the pallete I wound up working with- they work well together!

I included the baron of hell, but the video not show well the design of the baron of hell with that darkness, so i included here the real look.

Hmm, and this is my attempt to create short, simple, arcade-like map :D

It's now time to populate the map with monsters and monster closets :)

Well, this is actually my biggest problem with mapping. I plan to make a map that I can finish within, let's say 3-4 weeks, but then this happens and I keep adding more and more sectors :)

Yes, it's a SM right there. But this setup doesn't work weel gameplay-wise and will probably be modified.

Oh wow, this looks great! You've got some seriously awesome architecture going on there, I love it.

 

(Also, looks like there are a couple spots where texture alignment could use a bit of attention, like the pink skin wall around the sloped opening here.)
