Yeah, the intro is meant to reveal the main goal, the red skullkey, and then the map breaks off into a "downtown" type map. I usually don't like symmetry, like most of us, but it's really only the beginning. You start in the house from the first screenshot, and you can see the red skull key immediately.

@Myst.Haruko I love that sky, I love that the Horsehead Nebula is visible, that adds so much character to this scene.

The color palettes you use are absolutely fantastic, and this scene benefits so much from the palette you're using here, because without it, it risks becoming monotonous, even in its detail with the extra color variety.

I look forward to checking out that map firsthand.

They're not supposed to be.  There's different ways to draw (and different meanings to associate with) a 5-pointed star.
