reflex17 Posted November 27, 2019 (edited) I wanted to make a 'space' map, and I'm a fan of System Shock 2 so it was an easy choice for the textures. I've been trying to work to the strengths of the SS2 texture set, keeping a lot of angles, sharp lines and flat areas of color allowing the textures to be a large part of the visual detail. I'm also making as many parts of the map slightly offset and asymmetrical as I can, which will hopefully cause slight unease/disorientation in the player as they advance through it. The setting is a space station, and it's trapped in a mystery nebula which causes the station to become a nexus point for the gateways of hell. So far it will be Doom2 weapons and enemies, though I'm going to try and set up alternate versions for D4V and Supercharge mods, they seem to work well with the level after some early testing. joepallai Posted December 2, 2019 So I'm revisiting my 4th map I ever created (took me from '97 - '99 using WadAuthor to complete). I had originally intended it to be Map06 of PUREDOOM, then I tried to squeeze it into PL2; but the guys decided it didn't belong there (rightfully so) and it's been languishing on my hard drives ever since. Around 10 years ago I retextured the whole thing; banishing STARTAN to the foul pit from which it came; and went with an all grey texture theme after Anthony Soto said something to the effect that I threw up almost every Doom texture into this map. (probably why I now use a single texture theme regardless of map-size these days). Awhile back I was asked if this map could be completed/changed by someone else and that was a couple years ago; so now I've decided to go back to it and fix all that I never really liked within the map. Original map: Current status: This will take awhile, as I haven't decided on everything that I'm going to change. Doomsday Posted December 7, 2019 Well I don't have any pictures of any custom maps yet. But I am working on a doom wad called SIN right now it has smoother vanilla doom weapons and new ones too. (Quad Barrel Shotgun and the BFG from the Beta of DooM) Probably going to add more later on. I'm planning to add new monsters too. 0 Share this post Link to post

Redfive11 Posted December 9, 2019 (edited) Im working on a postal 2 inspired map, I only have the first intro level done, though (ive been getting back into it, and I worked 2 days to finish one apartment :( ) But anyway, here it is: doomsday.zip The map is very intractable, so most things if you press "E" on you can inspect or something. This is my 2nd map, too. I run it in GZdoom, (Doom in Hexen format) using both doom 1 and doom 2 wad files. ALSO, Im having there be 3 "tasks" to do in the map pack, much like in postal 2.
