Frantik Rejects 2: MAP24/45

 

Basically just a small intermission map for people to fire some BFGs off - before going back to more 'traditional' DM gameplay. BFG is of course the central gimmick, but SSG is given on spawn, too. Only way to get BFG ammo is by landing speedy jumps on the surrounding platforms.  BFG perpetually raises and lowers, too.    :)

Been building custom MBF21 bestiary for a while out of Realm667 assets and Doomworld posts by @Tsran908 and @horselessheadsman

I don't have video editing skills so it's unedited video of me exiting and restarting the game to replace a monster for test. Including a hilarious typo causing an imp to try and throw hell knights at me.

Got an evil circus level mostly done* for my Schnabelperchten Doom wad. There's a freak show, food stalls, game stalls (two of which you can actually play), a photo stand-in, and a big ol' tent.

There are certain ways to abuse the renderer in vanilla (or limit-removing in this case) to achieve a particular illusory effect.  Those tiny thin sectors are a necessity in order for the trick to work.

Lately, I've been inspired by Community Chest 2's - MAP07: "To Hell and Back," so I wanted to imitate, but I wanted the my imitation to be more simpler and relaxed, for it to be a just like any MAP07 in a classic megawad. I'm not sure if I'll ever release it or anything, since I'm not too happy with it yet, but I suppose I'm pleased with it enough, so I decided to share a few screenshots.

hi fai here

I started a new project, and I tried to make it look 90s

I haven't decided the name yet but it will be something like zhiming's adventure, and it would be (hopefully) a full reimagine of Doom 2.

and make it looks 90s meaning less detail overall which in terms remove one of the process I cost most time on, so I might finish this very quickly, in fact I started this in 25th and I'm three maps in now.

I'm polishing up my second map, "Infested Power Plant."  I'd hardly call it a masterpiece, but people seem to like it well enough and I've spent more than 50 hours on it (i like to learn new stuff as I map.)  I need learn how to script some messages to a door and a switch, and after that it's done.  Unless there are some bugs I don't know about.

Dynamic lighting and free look are highly recommended.

Medium size and medium difficulty with different difficulty settings.  The opening is a bit much for some people.

If you want to use jump, that's cool too.  If you do, you can jump the purple goo to get that secret early.  45 degrees
