I have to admit having done that myself in part of a huge single-map project whose development hell is only rivalled by DNF - I started it in 2004 and it's still not done :) This is meant to be a sort of hell, not the typical Doom Hell which is just a few textures, but something resembling the classic Greco-Christian Hell. It's the Big Demon Boss making a point, kinda like in Strontium Dog. The player has to find the off switch (yes, you read that right) after killing all the demons in this hell.

I've been away from it for so long, but I have some old ideas that could really turn into something interesting... Maybe. I just did a really quick proof of concept that would be the literal hub of my idea. Hopefully it goes somewhere, my mind really needs to create, again.

It's my second flesh fort, the first was a lot smaller and can be seen in the doom-1 project

 

I am building a wad that has a nightmare theme that is about... liquids

Didn't really expect to start doodling a flesh area. I was definitely inspired by DeadFromHeaven's brilliant Inegumentary in the RAMP project (can't find their username here on DW).

 

Bonus flesh image. This warping effect turned out better/worse than expected. CW for gross AF.

I LOVE it, I still think those worms are really gross, but its probably the intended way. Can't wait for the map to be finished

working on the secret level of my project, spent a lot of time messing with different textures but finally landed on lush green jungle changing to dried out sand and mud later on

Been working on (yet another) vanilla map this month. Half of the level is right up against the drawsegs limit because I enjoy torturous playtesting?

Originally, this was just going to be a personal project to help me learn the ropes, modern alternatives to old mapping tricks, etc. Then the creator came back.

I don't have much to show that's representative of the final version yet. But here's a small teaser, since this is the map that's the closest to complete.

Many things have already changed from when this was made. This was an old version, just vaccinating it. Now, hopefully, we'll be replacing the idgames version with something better.
