HellVain Posted March 31, 2016 I've been looking for some but could only find a few old heavy metal songs which lyrics I could hardly understand. sorry if I'm no metal head, I just love doom. 0 Share this post Link to post
ABRACADABRA Posted March 31, 2016 here is one, but it's metal, sorry) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uziodGpdaew 0 Share this post Link to post
Li'l devil Posted March 31, 2016 I guess the entire genre of doom metal was inspired by Doom. For obvious reasons. 0 Share this post Link to post
Maes Posted March 31, 2016 If module music counts, there's Demonic Sensation. There's also Blood on the walls, and a remix of the Victory Song with female vocals (Darkness Dawning) 0 Share this post Link to post
kuchitsu Posted March 31, 2016 Does this count? https://www.doomworld.com/vb/doom-general/59875-doom-samples-in-avant-garde-music/ 0 Share this post Link to post
IMX Posted April 2, 2016 "Blood on the Walls" is a song written by Manny Charlton (of Testament fame), and the song's real name is "Doom". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ierylhxXMKg Said song was included in "Drool", his first solo album released in 1999, and you can also find the song as well as the full album on iTunes in a much better quality. There's also a band named "Hexen" which released a song called "Knee-Deep in the Dead", a song that Abracadabra posted earlier. Edit: I almost forgot what could be maybe the earliest example. Rammstein's "Wollt ihr das Bett in Flammen sehen?". Not precisely Doom-inspired, but it includes Doomguy's death scream and the pickup sound. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GRQiiDvvNNY 0 Share this post Link to post
Chezza Posted April 3, 2016 I just want to make sure the OP is aware that the origin of many classic Doom songs are questionably stolen / inspired by existing metal music. You can check youtube for comparisons. 0 Share this post Link to post

That's not what he's asking about at all. I'm pretty sure everyone knows this about Doom's music by now. 0 Share this post Link to post
IMX Posted April 3, 2016 WOOOW. Serves me right. Manny Charlton of Nazareth fame. I'll be in the corner. 0 Share this post Link to post

Listen at 1:20 (and a few other times afterwards). Spoiler I won't claim the lyrics were especially inspired by Doom, though. They're about as abstract as Doom's level design maybe. :p 0 Share this post Link to post
