item randomizer

I've been looking a randomizer that randomizes the things within a given Doom/Doom2 level, but can't find one that performs acceptably.
Anyone know a good one? Preferably one that really works consistently? :)

I wanna know how to randomise certain items in EDGE. Eg. Sometimes there's a Zombieman in one position, other times it's an Imp.
