Anyone else think the AI of the possessed marines or whatever seem a little... stupid? hopefully this is easy mode or something. don't feel like the person playing was challenged in anyway. Hopefully this is a difficulty thing and not an overall AI issue.

Also... HOLY FUCK that Mancubus leap!!! Thats badass! The Mancubus has hangtime now. Fat boy could probably dunk on some people.

*Thinks about how funny it would be to see a Mancubus dunk'n on an imp with a speech bubble that says "how ya like deez nuts"*

Yeah, they seem quite stupid, almost as if they were meant to be fodder. I know the zombies literally exist for that reason, Marty Straton himself said it once during an interview.

Yes, and more than that, they've been carrying expedition into Hell, capturing demons and experimenting on them.

I wonder how many people they lost for each one captured.

A whole fucking lot, the first one (Lazarus Tethering Operation as they're called) was an absolute disaster. IRRC the whole expedition was wiped out.

They did something similar with Doom 3 and its demon museum, though not to this extent.

Actually loving how they're taking the best elements of Doom 3 and combining it with the fast paced combat of classic Doom.

That was fun to watch but it just furthers my worries for the Shotty. The DB Looks so superiore. You don't lose that much range and it actually kills things In one shot.

Just imagine trying to wrangle up a Baron of Hell? Good luck.

Baron of Hell is one of the only Demons they could not capture during tethering operations.

They had luck with a Cyberdemon, which already was in a coma. But idiot-UAC put the plug back in...

It has always been that way, the shotgun is used for imps and zombies as they take only 1 shell to kill while the DB is meant for bigger foes as they do as much damage as the rocket launcher at close range. What bothers you is that theyre like the classics?

The cyberdemon was caught because of the sacrifice of an employee who managed to it in with himself

Nah, the story goes a little bit different

Spoiler

The Cyberdemon was captured in hell in a coma/braindead state. To prevent it from dying, they fed very little amounts of argent energy to it.
While beeing studied in Lazarus Labs, an "unknown Mastermind" managed to activate a vital organ of the Cyberdemon, which then regained consciousness and basically rampaged through the facility.
One of the employees then sacrificed himself to lure it into Holding Pen 6, where it is imprisoned at the moment (and I guess will be a boss fight...in the fight like hell trailer, the lair he jumps down into could very well be Holding Pen 6)

"During the Cyberdemon Reanimation Project, the beast was kept alive by controlling the amount of plasmatic Argent Energy it received. This kept the beast in an effectively \"brain-dead\" state while additional components were cybernetically implanted. A neural pathway was created between the creature's brain and the Argent Accumulator, allowing the creature to administer Argent power to any part of its body as needed. In hindsight, this neural pathway was a mistake as once the pathway was activated the dormant beast immediately administered an Argent surge to the medulla oblongata, which allowed it to restore motor function. Once active, the circulatory system quickly restored and the beast achieved full motor function within a few minutes. It is only through the bravery of Follower Jacobson that the beast was contained. Follower Jacobson willingly gave his own life as bait when he lured the giant Cyberdemon into holding pen 6, where it could be contained. Unfortunately, there was no way to retrieve Jacobson once the doors had been bolted, and he was sacrificed. A report following the incident suggested that this act was not instinct by the Cyberdemon, but rather a suggestion of a greater intelligence governing the will of any creature demon borne - a \"mastermind\" of sorts. Research on this theory continues."
