ptoing Posted June 11, 2016 So I made this little testwad to test a palette modification. Just a Baron and a Hellknight in a rectangular room, and the player. For some weird reason I can wake them up and all, and they come toward me, BUT they never attack. Tested in Crispy, PRBoom+, Zdoom, Eternity, all give the same result. Here's the .WAD: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/15588722/post/doom/pacifist_bulls.wad Wonder what caused this. 0 Share this post Link to post
scifista42 Posted June 11, 2016 It's because the map consists of just one sector and you use Zennode as a nodebuilder - due to a bug, Zennode creates a flawed REJECT lump in maps consisting of just one sector, resulting in all line-of-sight checks being evaluated as false. 0 Share this post Link to post
ptoing Posted June 11, 2016 I tried added a sergeant to the mix, no change to the map geo. And that then results in attacks. But then removing him again, and just leave the 2 bulls, made the bulls attack. So maybe it was some weird hiccup in zennode? 0 Share this post Link to post
scifista42 Posted June 11, 2016 Not maybe, it definitely is some weird hiccup in Zennode (and a known one, and also not the only one that Zennode has). Anyway, if you change the map to have more than one sector, or if you change node builder, then modify map geometry and then save, the problem will go away for sure. 0 Share this post Link to post
ptoing Posted June 11, 2016 Thanks :) Just found it curious. What is generally regarded as the best nodebuilder? 0 Share this post Link to post
