googling says it's Korean "won." specifically South Korean won, i would imagine.

Maelstrom is right. It's a currency of South Korea called "Won".

Huh? It's not still $60, it was $100 NZD before. New Zealand has the same 40% discount everyone else has, and at the current rate comes out ~10bux more than USD (the exchange rate has been fluctuating a lot lately, it's usually more exact than that). Your issue is non-existent.
