neubejiita Posted July 6, 2016 This switch seems to be redundant. You can use an exploit here to press other switches and activate various things. I can finish this map without bothering with the Archvile switch. So what is the purpose? There are more switches guarded by Barons that are not necessary. This map is confusing me. Should I just keep cheating by getting in the right spot and pressing other switches? Or should I play it properly? #EDIT found what it does, but why is this so exploitable? 0 Share this post Link to post
gaspe Posted July 6, 2016 The switches guarded by the barons and the archvile lower the silver bars in front of the pillar with the four switches, which they lower the steps of the "pyramid" with the yellow key so you can pick it. I don't know how you could exploit that and it isn't really clear what you actually did but I guess that most probably it's just brutal Doom fucking up something. 0 Share this post Link to post
VGamingJunkie Posted July 6, 2016 That was level was so annoying when I let's played it. I had to actually look up a walkthrough, not realizing you had to turn around and shoot one of the switches on the wall. I hate levels that do that, have a randomly shootable switch that's mandatory to complete the level that's also completely out of place. 0 Share this post Link to post

When one of the switches blocked by the silver barriers is exposed, you can press the other switches by getting in the right position. This way I did not need to press all of the baron switches to finish this map. http://imgur.com/a/pNcjC But I only just found out about shooting the marble faces to raise the lift to the archie switch. I was always using the jump key. #EDIT Here is a prboom-plus demo showing this. http://www.securitronlinux.com/arma3/tntmap18.lmp 0 Share this post Link to post
