Clonehunter Posted September 19, 2016 Heh, that card game. I was, and still am, not convinced that anyone I knew (Or people in general) ever actually knew how to play the card game. It was essentially house rules everytime, which I imagine simplified the game immensely. 0 Share this post Link to post
Dragonfly Posted September 19, 2016 As far as tabletop card games go, it's a very simple one. A bunch of my friends had the Game Boy game of the TCG, which meant we all knew how to play properly. Damn, I miss the fun of childhood. 0 Share this post Link to post
Voros Posted September 19, 2016 I used to play with Yu Gi Oh cards, properly of course. Now I see how boring that was. How do you play with Pokemon cards anyway? I thought they were just for making your collection. 0 Share this post Link to post
Dragonfly Posted September 19, 2016 Yu-Gi-Oh is intensely strategic actually. "Old" Yu-Gi-Oh is boring, yes, it was just a game of luck. I've yet to try out Magic: The Gathering. I guess that's my next TCG to try, if there's a way to play online for free/cheap. 0 Share this post Link to post
Tracer Posted September 19, 2016 It seems as though the craze has ended in my area at least. 0 Share this post Link to post
Doomkid Posted September 19, 2016 Voros said:You know... This Pokemon Go addiction of 2016 is like the Doom addiction of the '90s. Just on an even more larger scale. Oh lord no. Maybe the Pokemon series overall is far larger than Doom, but Pokemon Go itself is a fun little fad that will be a memory in under a years time. It's only been a couple months and I haven't seen anyone playing it in person for a while now. Dragonfly said:I've yet to try out Magic: The Gathering. Magic is fun, I've never found an electronic version that functioned in a sensible way though so if you come across one let me know! 0 Share this post Link to post
MrGlide Posted September 19, 2016 Magic the gathering online is much cheaper then the physical card game and functions quite well. 0 Share this post Link to post
june gloom Posted September 19, 2016 I still see people playing but it's mostly died out here. I stopped playing a little before my feet blew up last month -- too goddamn hot outside anyway. 0 Share this post Link to post
JustABroccoli562 Posted September 21, 2016 i don't play pokemon go just because i'm not a fan of pokemon 0 Share this post Link to post

Tracer Posted September 21, 2016 ^The thread asked for our opinions on Pokemon Go. He gave his opinion. Technically, nothing posted in EE is necessary. 0 Share this post Link to post
MrGlide Posted September 21, 2016 True. I dislike most of the pokemon generations, mainly most of the later pokemon design veired away from kaiju insperations, other then that I can't really put my finger on whats changed design wise, But I'm not as near interested in later gens then the earlier save few selected pokemon. 0 Share this post Link to post
TheWizard Posted September 22, 2016 It's alright, kinda fun going to a pub with friends and catch a few, but other than that it's just grinding, got very old and very fast for me. Friends are still obsessed though. Then there's all the fucking idiots that walk on the bike path like zombies practically the whole 16km bike ride home every fucking day. Would attach light sabers sticking our of my rims if they existed. But seriously, I don't get it, there's no need to be walking and staring at your phone with this game. And if you're going to do it, atleast walk in a predictable pattern. AKA walk straight, we learn this as toddlers. Also, why the fuck is the game 3D? No one uses AR and it's just burning extra resources. And there's no need for the app to not be able to run when your phone is in sleep mode. Another big reason I stopped playing. 0 Share this post Link to post
Dragonfly Posted September 22, 2016 MrGlide said:other then that I can't really put my finger on whats changed design wise I believe this is to do with the higher resolution devices the Pokémon games are on (NDS onwards). More pixels = more room for 'design'. In my opinion, Pokémon's charm comes from it's simplicity - so when you get 'mons that are large and somewhat 'too detailed' such as Arceus, I feel it begins to lose it's charm. 0 Share this post Link to post
Dylan Jarvis Posted September 24, 2016 I was really into it, then Niantic fucked it up by removing the tracking feature, so I just quit playing altogether 0 Share this post Link to post

Coopersville Posted September 24, 2016 "Rare pokemon spawn at midnight" at a casino in my town. Dozens of people still go there every night. My friends and I try to go out there at least once a week. 0 Share this post Link to post
MrGlide Posted September 25, 2016 Thats cool, what "rare" pokemon spawn there if you don't mind my asking? 0 Share this post Link to post
Coopersville Posted September 27, 2016 I caught my first Primeape there just moments after my friend spent his candies evolving one. I haven't even seen a Mankey yet. It's also where I found my first Omanyte, Golduck, Poliwag, Ekans, and Slowbro. 0 Share this post Link to post
