Red Posted September 12, 2017 The Void Really liked it, very good, yes. Angel's Egg Absolutely stunning, slow and short but it's a visually driven movie. 2 Share this post Link to post
savagegrant Posted September 13, 2017 Well, on the weekend I'm planning to see my first moofie at the cinemas for a few months - It (I was a fan of the original 1990 mini-series). I've seen the trailer. It should be scary as fuck! 0 Share this post Link to post
Deleted_Account Posted September 13, 2017 Just watched It last night, really enjoyed it. 1 Share this post Link to post
Teivman Posted September 13, 2017 (edited) Event Horizon. creepy, sci-fi AND demonic. All of these three things mixed up along with the amazing on screen sets and the wonderful performance of Sam Neill made up one terrifying and great movie! It is a must watch! 3 Share this post Link to post

Lizardcommando Posted September 16, 2017 I also saw It last weekend. I enjoyed it. It was amusing, hilarious and scary. Two things: Spoiler 1. Seeing the little boy Georgie getting his arm bitten off and seeing him crawling away freaked me out. I didn't think they'd actually get pretty gory with that scene. I thought he was just going to get dragged into the sewers and you hear him screaming and that was it. 2. Seeing the kids beat the shit out of Pennywise was super satisfying. 2 Share this post Link to post
Impie Posted September 16, 2017 (edited) We had a classic WWII marathon this past week: Where Eagles Dare, The Eagle Has Landed, The Guns of Navarone, and The Sea Wolves. 0 Share this post Link to post

Clay Posted September 16, 2017 Probably weird but ...I don't watch movies....to short lived. Pure shows. Stargate series, Eureka, Spartacus, Law and Order SVU, CSI, Sherlock, etc. 0 Share this post Link to post

DMPhobos Posted September 16, 2017 I saw IT last night, i was really hyped for the movie since im a fan of the book, the movie was pretty good, i liked it a lot, CGI looked cheap on some scenes though But i wouldn't call it a really scary film 1 Share this post Link to post
MrGlide Posted September 17, 2017 Got to chip in about iT, was pretty good actually. It's nice to see a decent movie come out once in awhile. I will say watching the real of movies coming out before the movie started made me just roll my eyes though, felt like stan in that one episode of southpark, where everyone is shitting out their mouths. 0 Share this post Link to post
40oz Posted September 17, 2017 Yeah IT wasn't all that scary, but I was actually very satisfied with it that way because the plot was very compelling, the characters were extremely relatable, and I feel like the scenes were shot very well. For the past few months I've been thinking that movies were going perish and theatres will eventually adopt some sort of Netflix style bingewatching thing because TV series are just a better format, but this movie makes me very optimistic for the future of movies. Even though it's a reboot of an existing franchise, I'm pretty hopeful that future movies will follow in IT's foot steps and adapt a similar 80's-90's Hollywood magic style approach to their filmmaking to some original stuff too. 3 Share this post Link to post
june gloom Posted September 18, 2017 Texas Chainsaw Massacre I wasn't planning on rewatching this. It's a great movie, but it's such a grim, disturbing film that I wasn't sure I was ready to sit through it a second time so soon. Following the death of Tobe Hooper however I figured he deserved a memorializing, and so we watched this. I think I'm good for the next five years or so. Sneakers I remember watching this many years ago when I was a teenager. It was kind of a big movie when it came out, due to its eclectic cast (Robert Redford, Dan Aykroyd, among many others) but it's kind of obscure now. I really wanted to watch it again for some reason, so we did, and I still really enjoyed it. For being a combination technothriller and heist film it's not especially brilliant; its focus on being something of a comedy probably had something to do with that. Still, it's a fun film, and well worth watching if you wanted to see how Hollywood saw the internet in 1992. Office Space Would you believe I had never seen this until now? I know, crazy. Well, that's been sorted. Having worked in offices before, this borderline Kafkaesque comedy was a little bit triggering, but that just made it all the better. I think you're not going to completely appreciate this film unless you've experienced the banal evil that is white collar office work. The best part is now I get all the references in FEAR. 0 Share this post Link to post
Red Posted September 18, 2017 I'll never be able to watch Return of the King without crying nonstop during the last half an hour or so 2 Share this post Link to post

Memfis Posted September 22, 2017 (edited) What Happened to Monday - very nice movie where one actress plays seven roles. The concept is really attractive and it's executed rather well as long as you don't think about logic too much and just embrace yourself in the atmosphere and the style. Perhaps I would prefer a little less action and a less serious mood (actually I can't help but wonder how a girly romantic sitcom like this would look like...) but eh, it is what it is, and it's still pretty awesome. I truly cared about the characters, liked their different personalities, and the credits song simply kicked ass. Recommended. 0 Share this post Link to post
Spooner5020 Posted September 23, 2017 I saw Kingsman:The Golden Circle. The sequel is getting a lot of hate from critics, but I find it to be just as good as the first. I did find parts of the movie a little slow, but never boring. A really unnescceary scene. And I didn't really like Tatum's character. Other than that it was a great sequel, but I still think the first is the better movie. Spoiler:you may wanna bring some tissues. There is a scene that is a tear jerker. 0 Share this post Link to post
Lizardcommando Posted September 24, 2017 I watched Kingsman: Golden Circle at a matinee screening today. It's not bad. I can get why some people wouldn't like it. Some things I didn't like about the movie: Spoiler I hated how they killed off Roxy. I was hoping she'd be in it for a while longer. I hated that Merlin was killed off in the movie too. Although, at least his death was justified and he went out like a badass. The twist about the traitor in The Statesmen group was pretty predictable. Other than that, the movie was pretty enjoyable. 0 Share this post Link to post

[McD] James Posted September 24, 2017 (edited) I saw mother! It was a brilliant and engaging movie. One of the most thoroughly entertaining and unique movies I've seen in awhile. It deserves a best picture nomination, but I doubt it'll get one. Edited September 24, 2017 by Ajora 0 Share this post Link to post

I know there were some stuff that had changed from the graphic novel but those changes didn't really bother me too much. 0 Share this post Link to post
Megalyth Posted September 24, 2017 Finally saw "Cars" this morning. My son loves Lighting McQueen and has a bunch of Cars stuff that various people have given to him, but he hadn't seen it either. He enjoyed the hell out of it, naturally. I thought it was funny. 1 Share this post Link to post
varth Posted September 27, 2017 Z - political thriller/satire from 1969, pretty decent and entertaining, sorta socialist but no one ideology ends up looking good in the end. Also surprisingly funny and energetic 0 Share this post Link to post
Walter confetti Posted September 29, 2017 They Live - is a pretty cool and entertaining movie, i liked it! Blade Runner - Visually stunning, i really love the dark, gritty and baroque atmosphere this movie have. 0 Share this post Link to post

[McD] James Posted September 30, 2017 (edited) I watched First Blood. I saw Rambo 4 a few years ago, but I haven't seen the originals since I was very young. What really distracted me about this movie was just how much of a villain Rambo came across as. The movie really tries to colour the cops and Rambo in black and white, and while the cops are all unambiguously bad, Rambo comes across as an unhinged psychopath who does nothing but continually make things worse for himself. I get that he has PTSD, and the cops had no right physically abusing him in prison, but Rambo is no hero, even if the movie tries to make him look like one. And what was up with him blowing up that gas station? Edited September 30, 2017 by Ajora 0 Share this post Link to post
Kristian Nebula Posted September 30, 2017 Two most recent ones: Valerian - City of a Thousand Planets and Sicario which were both very enjoyable although absolutely different genres. 0 Share this post Link to post
