Their last thing updated was on 9/11. that's just a 9/11 rememberance page; judging by the copyright at the bottom, looks like its last update was in 2009. you really can't search much up, sadly. it barely has any results, and most of the links are completely dead. still, it's interesting to visit it. 0 Share this post Link to post
Doomkid Posted August 15, 2016 As far as Doom related sites go: http://www.parkerinfo.com/ PIR has been around since 1997-1998 (iirc) http://www.teaser.fr/~amajorel/yadex/ has been around since 1997 http://linux.sh/ has been around since 2000 http://doom2.net/ has been around since 2000 http://toastytech.com/ has been around since 2001 1998 http://www.teamhellspawn.com/ has been around since 2002 There's loads of Doom related sites out there from the stone age that are, surprisingly, still live. I've archived loads of dead ones here for historic interest. A little glimpse into the past. As far as big-name sites, Yahoo.com turns 21 soon and was the "Google before Google" until ~2000. Google has existed for 17 years now, on that note. I'm sure there's stuff way older than this out there that's been live since the early 90's that others may be able to dig up. 0 Share this post Link to post

Doomkid Posted August 15, 2016 Sadly, teamtnt.com is no longer live. It would be nice if we could somehow get access to that domain but that seems impossible at this point. Thankfully several community members have mirrored it in it's final state, more info here: https://www.doomworld.com/vb/doom-general/86948-teamtnt/ 0 Share this post Link to post

Doomkid Posted August 15, 2016 Related: http://mentalfloss.com/article/53792/17-ancient-abandoned-websites-still-work ToastyTech made it onto that list! Turns out the site has been up since 1998 - I had no idea it was that old. That was the first place I got the old Doom Alphas from way back when. I vividly remember that it was the only Doom related site my old school didn't have blocked. I guess that would have been pre-2001 after all. 0 Share this post Link to post
BigDickBzzrak Posted August 15, 2016 rotten.com exists since '96. my-symbian.com (pretty much the first smartphone forum ever) exists, according to the main admin, since 1999, but he has lost data from '99-'01 in some sort of domain change. Still somewhat active, btw. 0 Share this post Link to post

Havoc Crow Posted August 15, 2016 http://www.addventure.com/ A collaborative choose-your-own-adventure site all the way back from 1994. And still up, though you can't contribute new pages anymore. The adventures are worth checking out and exploring for sheer surreal weirdness. 0 Share this post Link to post

Also, http://www.teamhellspawn.com/doomheaven/ claims "Page Running Since 1996", but I recall it shifted URLs a few times over the years. Definitely a golden oldie. Six Posted August 22, 2016 Most websites i used to visit back then are sadly no more, however there are a few that are still around, amazingly. http://homeoftheunderdogs.net - Used to visit frequently back in 2001. It's an "abandonware" site that used to host all kinds of games. It has since relinquished this status somewhat and upholds a more legal standing. http://transfusion-game.com - Blood related mod for Quake. Used to lurk the forums just over a decade ago. The project has since lost all momentum. http://newgrounds.com - As said by others already. Had some great flash content back in the day. It may even still do, perhaps more so but i haven't returned in years. 0 Share this post Link to post
Quast Posted August 22, 2016 http://www.straightdope.com http://www.fark.com https://www.bluesnews.com https://www.somethingawful.com AltaVista was still around a year or two ago iirc. Now it redirects to yahoo. Additionally, these funtime sites are even older. Fonze Posted August 22, 2016 doomwadstation.net]Doom Wad Station has been around since '98 and is still maintained by its creator, brad_tilf, though I have been slacking on my responsibilities. RUSH Posted August 22, 2016 Used to play on a website called Coffee Break Arcade occasionally. The site has been around for fifteen years at least. Still looks exactly the same as I remember: http://www.coffeebreakarcade.com/ I found Area Flat 2 and 3 from this place. Under "shooting games." Simple but was kinda fun at the time: Spoiler 0 Share this post Link to post
