Whats up with four other tombs all having doomslayers mark?

Recommended Posts

So when u talk to the Hayden and take the elevator down. When u step out and u take the right turn in UAC hangar u find 4 tombs all having slayers mark on the inside.Im not shur about 2 but 2 of them are open and u can see the top of casket has same mark inside as we see it at the beginning of game and helix stone and everywhere else mentioning the Doom slayer. The tombs also have "cased in stone like" figure/shape of a human body...so someone was awaken there.Unless the UAC were interested in seeing replicas of there Doom slayers tomb witch it sounds exactly THAT **********.

So can anyone explain me those 4 tombs, please?!!

I can't think of anything else then easter egg to the older (four) Doom games. But if thats the case its pretty distasteful.

I have completely overlooked the fact that the Sentinels all wear high-tech suits of armor. In their holographic / statue forms it's not that obvious. Interesting and I like it.

Btw, the codex speaks of 9 sentinels. Where are the others?

9 circles of hell is what you may be thinking of.

I think of the sentinels as predators, heck who knows they may even have similar faces, all their faces are covered we never see em. And they may possess tech way too advanced for the 'setting' aka explains how we may get a prequel that may not necessarily need swords and hexen style spell weapons. Think how predators in their universe were aroundd during the times of the pyramids

I'd more expect a sequel where we have to team up or meet them to have a chance against the Crucible. I like the idea of Doom being preparing a huge story setting like Diablo I -> Diablo II. Someone mentioned that here a few weeks ago. Or regrouping the Sentinels is in a Singleplayer DLC preparing the story for Doom II. When the Crucible crosses the divide it might be the beginning of Hell on earth.

It's in the ending credits. The background is the icon of sin.

That was me too. So you see the same thing i see, the way the lore is set up reminds me of the jump from d1 to d2

The amount of details that is in the lore and level disign is DEFENETLY something we will see more of.This isnt just some creepy level design that would escort ur game play thru hell.Almoust every wall tells a story.

How meny of u had thought in mind when u enter Argent d'nur and u see the sentinels statues and u just NEED to know what happend to that place..?U just wish those walls could talk. Its amazing and I agre that it will led to much bigger lore continuation.

What bothers me abaut those 4 tombs in UAC hanger is that they are all EXACTLY the same. The marks/runes even the way they are cracked is the same. They probablly just used same design of the tomb i understand...but when everything is so detailed i would somehow expect that would be as well.It just make u think some fraud is in place. But i see that all sentinels wear that marks(Haydens office) on their chest so, yes makes sence.

Thats one of the biggest problem cos they dont.Holographic(end credit) yes, but the statues in agrent d'nur and the one in Haydens office and the one from scriptures are ancient.Unless im mixing this completely and ancient sentinels had advanced armor in that case im mixing it up completely and it means that sentinels really were advanced civilisation with uber technology...i just...why swords then? And if Crucible WAS Slayers sword that seems more advanced then the thing they used witch are ordinery swords.Im giving up on this i dont know enymore... ...if they had uber armor why fight with sword then?Becouse they are Knights...sigh.

The Sentinel swords may not have been as they seem in a stone statue, like the crucible.

My theory is that older civilizations made their way into the hell dimension, however that happened, (I'm not saying it was aliens, but...) and powers and wisdom they came across in that dimension, sped up their advancements. Yet, they would still relate to armor and weapons that look medieval. You know, like Steampunk.

I think the language you're looking at, isn't from earth. I mean, it's clearly not a human historical language.

And you have to remember from Doom 3, Mars, the excavations, learning teleportation/inter-dimensional travel.

Yeah, I really think at the end of the tunnel, it's aliens that inter-dimensionally travel, meeting up with humans during ancient eras, and bringing them to other worlds.

I still don't think 'hell' is 'hell', in the judeo-christian sense. I think the humans who traveled there thought it was hell. And some got into demon worship through the powers they witnessed and gained. Humans made 'hell', hell. Then began the battle over hell and it's power.

In the cutout from an ancient scripture found in hayden's office, the sentinels are fighting off demons with very seemingly ordinary swords. '' While a hooded figure looks on' (ingame lore from codex too- book of Daeva). That is what goblin is referring to. The swords might be symbolic here, maybe they do possess advanced powers for their weApons, even some sorcery and to top it all off some energy weapons? I can imagine it fitting in all together.
