ShallowB Posted July 21 8 hours ago, ViolentBeetle said: Update: I noticed the the textures have paletting issues in the corner. Ah, you're right! Apparently setting the palette in GIMP doesn't actually work correctly with transparent layers. Oh god, how many textures am I going to go back and fix... 0 Share this post Link to post
ViolentBeetle Posted July 21 (edited) Revision of the throbber, with more classical green tint. The fade is a little weird here, but on 4 tics frame duration it works pretty well. I also originally made BSOD throbber too, based on ShallowB's work again, but after chosing to move it to black screen kinda forgot. Still, you can have it. Stabbey Posted July 21 (edited) Elevator switch textures, suitable for in-place use as SW1 and SW2 (which is why a lot of the SW1 side looks identical). I made these for, ironically, a CP idea where elevators are frowned upon. - Free to use with credit. 13 Share this post Link to post

janne dough Posted July 21 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. it doesn't have background, just the texture in 128 x 128 doom palette true color based of that Diego Velázquez painting 11 Share this post Link to post
Stabbey Posted July 22 (edited) More switch stuff Target (shoot-switch): - Switches with letters built in: - Panels to indicate the thing a switch goes with: EDIT: Added a blank for users to make their own: - The final panels are blank for users to add their own thing if they want. If you want other colors for the letters, I've got you covered there as well, although I'm not sure I'll post any color variations myself. Free to use and modify with credit. I also went back and replaced some of the 256-wide Grey 7 variants which were the same the entire length with 128 px wide versions. I guess I probably could have cut that down to 64-wide, now that I think about it. It's fine. ViolentBeetle Posted July 22 (edited) I have made tower of hanoi texture because I have lost control of my life. Yellow turns into orange during paletting, but that's fine. You can recolor them anyway. Wonder if I could fit a chess game in here. Update: Just realized I have a frame missing where smallest segment is moving to the right at the end. I won't remake the gif just for this right now, you can easily move it if you actually want to use this texture - the screen itself is uniformly black. ViolentBeetle Posted July 23 (edited) A tried doing something else in the same vein, but I didn't like the result. But who knows, maybe you'll like it. It was supposed to look like it's turning, but it looks like it flips over, and I'm not willing to draw more frames. A version without intermediate parts makes more sense, but I'm not happy with its simplicity. Update: Didn't want to let the dots win, so made this. Not sure what this is, but it's a fun little animation. Edited July 23 by ViolentBeetle 16 Share this post Link to post

Stabbey Posted July 31 (edited) I made a new "Exit Man" sign for use for actual building exits, not level exits. I also got a bit annoyed with the standard Brick12 texture because it turns out that some of the bricks are 9 pixels tall and others are only 8 pixels tall. Also, it doesn't tile properly at the top and bottom because the line is a different number of pixels when tiling from top to bottom, and some times the line between bricks at the side is a line of pixels too short. So I fixed it. Someone else probably also did it, but that's fine. EDIT 2: After an annoying number of tries, I fixed these. Finally. And then, I did a ridiculous number of color variations. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Free to use and modify (usually mix and match) with credit. ViolentBeetle Posted August 1 (edited) I have redid the chess animation with a better game and also correctly aligned chessboard (Out of all pictures I googled I somehow picked the wrong one). The pieces are more visible against the board (Mostly was a problem for white pieces on white squares) and also added highlights that are standard for chess (Except I didn't highlight departures, too much hassle) Additional fruits of my labors. First of all, while I am 100% large black screens exist, I couldn't actually find any. I modified the one from Valiant warning you not to kill Mancubus into a few different sizes. And in addition, per @DoomGappy's idea, UAC screensaver One last thing for today, the evil eye Edited August 1 by ViolentBeetle 28 Share this post Link to post

Stabbey Posted August 1 (edited) I tried to fix my Brick 12 variants like 3 or 4 times before I finally got them fixed. If you downloaded those versions, get the new ones instead. There are now also more color variants. Here are some samples of other possible variants, although since there are so many I probably won't post them all as images, but put them as part of a texture pack. Transition between White and Tan/Red/Blue bricks (both sides). It's 128 pixels, but I recommend cutting it in half, using whatever side is appropriate. - - Blue stripe on white (Very high, high, middle, low, very low: - - - - Blue/Red stripe on white, diagonal (both sides). It's 128 pixels, but I recommend cutting it in half, using whatever side is appropriate, but it does tile horizontally if you want a zig-zag pattern. Using one diagonal (half the texture) will nicely move from a very high to a very low stripe. - Shallower angle stripe. This one moves from a high to a low stripe Free to use and modify (mix and match) with credit. Templates: It was pretty tedious work getting the template for the diagonal (a cutout of transparency for the stripe), and what's worse is that I don't see any faster way to do it for other basic background colors. If someone knows a way to use GIMP to just cut a chunk out of an image on a diagonal line, let me know. EDIT: I have a work-around. I have PNG templates which are transparent stripe, and transparent exterior, so I can load those PNGs into Slade and colorize what I need. Thankfully, while I was bashing my head trying to get the bricks to line up, I standardized the base tan brick color range to be a subset of 13 colors, and I used that as a basis to make the white bricks, then everything else. Some templates: Transparent outline. Make your own bricks from other textures! Silver Bricks! ... And White Silver Bricks! - Transparent Stripe (Big angle, Small angle): - Opaque Stripe, Transparent Everything else (Big Angle, Small Angle): - The line I cut on was one wider than the transparent stripe, so it should still match. Transition to color of your choice for Tan, White bricks: - Edited August 2 by Stabbey : More stuff and reorganized 12 Share this post Link to post

ViolentBeetle Posted August 3 (edited) A couple of not particularly interesting big screens. Also a couple of animations I also did. The second was a disappointment and chose not to include it in my own texture pack, but I already did it so I might as well post. ViolentBeetle Posted August 4 (edited) I finally feel like I've made enough screens. There probably won't be any more for a while. Here's the final animation across multiple screens. Not sure why I chose to align small screens like that. A couple of static screen asembleys Skinny empty screens: Unrelated to screens, I found an old photograph of a random wall I made, that I wanted to turn into texture, I kinda did and it kinda works, though it's probably not actually good for anything. Still, wanted to share. One more update: Weird computer midtexture kind of thing stitched out of computer textures Edited August 5 by ViolentBeetle 28 Share this post Link to post
NinthBurn Posted August 5 (edited) EDIT: More colors, as well as silver version here. I really liked the teleporter pads uploaded a while back by @Stabbey, but I wanted a bigger one, so I decided to try to make one myself. I'd say it turned out ok, it's still based on the same concept, with some variations (teleporting area being a circle, metal base instead of compspan, rotating piece under the teleporter). If you want the textures, they can be manually saved from Imgur or you can get the archive on Mediafire. In the showcase, they are animated at 3 tics for each. 4 looks good enough, others seem to be too slow. There's only a 128x128 version, but they can be scaled if you're using UDMF. I also used some metal textures from 32in24-15_tex_v2 Edited August 6 by NinthBurn : more colors 11 Share this post Link to post

SaladBadger Posted August 10 dunno where else to shove this, but one of the WIP fonts in the id vault had a different set of lowercase characters that got tossed for the small caps, so here's my attempt at finalizing those characters in the same style as the final font. 24 Share this post Link to post
