Random industrial sky made out of some photos I took on a train ride.

Use w/ credit n' all that.

I noticed the clouds don't actually tile, and shadows may or may not be on the wrong side in places. Just as an experiment I copied a pasted a few things around to hide this.

 

I'm not sure towers this big would actually work for skybox in practice, but I like cutting and pasting.

Update: I tested it and it actually looks well enough, makes me very agoraphobic though.

Oh wow, thanks man! I forgot that skies actually tile a bit and don't take up the whole screen :V And yeah, I just mirrored a chunk of the photo to make the machinery look nicer.

Yeah, making a full alphabet first, and then using Slade to change the color palette and copying individual letters to signs would be faster overall than making each sign one at a time.

I originally just wanted to make "Node graph" sign because I saw Half Life 2 stream and got nostalgic, but then decided to add extra.

I'll probably do alphabet next time.

I also did a new billboard last night, but the text gets weirdly rendered in the game, when I move around it feels like it jumps around too much.

It's probably not that big of a deal, but any ideas how I can improve it?

i am not sure if i have seen plutonia's 64x64 skull switch cleaned up before, so recreation was attempted. used BROWN96 (background), unused pipes from romero's 2015 dump (the "nails"), and SW2_1 patch (small skull. resized and cleaned up for this) from the IWADS.

Most of my computer animations run well with frame duration 4, this one is better off at 8.

could be nice to have that above a switch and have the animation play after it got pressed.

Doom doesn't support transition animation for switches. If you plan on mapping for something more advanced, guess you'll have to add the switch yourself.

I thought the original ID desert sky prototype looked a little bland, even despite the lightning animation, so here's some mountains and souls of the damned to liven it up.

Edited by St. Mildly Annoyed : improved the texture so it doesn't cut awkwardly

I interpreted the question as pressing the button and one sphere pour into another and stops. You can have animated switch state, that's true.

 

On a related news, I tried making another thing but it's making me sick

I even deleted it from pack after testing, again. (Anyone actually wants me to release animated screen pack with everything I posted here once I'm done doing it?). Ambiguity really screws with my head.

I think I should try redoing it with at least in-between frames, but it's kind of a hassle.
