Post your Doom textures!

Well, hello, caco[back]flat. XD

Depends - on what you need. If you just want to draw, than Paint.net is enough, many professional artists use it. If you want image manipulation, than GIMP. So, if you want to create new, original Doom textures, Paint.net would be good, but if you want to change already existing ones, then you probably be better with GIMP. Or ZDoom's TEXTURES lump. Seriously, this baby can do so much that you thought only advanced image editing programs can do. Try it. You'll love it. It can create new textures without even using any additional graphics at all - and the result will be just a tiny super-light file containing all the textures you edited!

Yeah, i just switched to GIMP 'cause my new PC doesn't seem to support it, i'll try finding a version that fits my PC specs.

If you want to have a good free Photoshop equivalent I would also recommend Krita.

Krita I've never heard of, will give it a try :)

Thanks for the feedback guys.

And Shibainumaster, keep up the good work👍

Off the heels of toaplan:

Color variants plus slight modification to make them more visually interesting:

I promised you variants and here they are (I removed transparent segments and also cables, you can impose those through editing TEXTURE1

Some sensible trunks:

TRUNK1A.pngTRUNK1B.png

TRUNK2A.pngTRUNK2B.png

TRUNK6A.pngTRUNK6B.png (I failed to replicate vanilla crate color scheme but I did an approximation)

Less sensible trunks for the world's most flamboyant barracks:

TRUNK3A.pngTRUNK3B.png

TRUNK4A.pngTRUNK4B.png

TRUNK5A.pngTRUNK5B.png

Maybe I should've changed the numbers, but it seems like unnecessary amount of hassle.

If I think of two more, I can have 128 units tall stack of trunks. I tried yellow but it ended up just dirty.

I made a treasure chest (gold texture from Epic2.wad):

The lid of the military trunk is made using the middle texture (made from textures in 32in24-15_tex_v2.wad):

These are fantastic! Would you care if they are used in Community Trunk, with appropriate credit of course?

Not really, just colour-coded for convenience: red for fire (napalm), blue for ice (like in DN3D, it's the future), and green for poison (like teargas, but deadly). Yes, I've used to play RPGs, how you could tell? +)

I had this EXACT idea for a project but didn't have the chance to make it happen, thanks for doing so!

I think my one issue is that the gold coins flats from Epic2 (originally from Powerslave), simply do not tile properly, and have visible awkward seams. That's addressable, of course.

Threw these together because the idea of making treasure flats was fun :)
Not perfect, clean em up if you feel like it :P

Yeah go ahead.

I forgot to add the backside texture of the treasure chest that shows the hinges, I have added those to my post now.

We really need a new community chest-style texture pack. OTEX is cool, but that classic aesthetic does it for me.

I've actually did use a lot of textures from here for Skulltiverse (On top of CC4) and I'm adding to this pack. Maybe in the future I'll clean out textures from the pack and post it. I think someone else mentioned doing the same without the other packs though.

A bunch of random textures I've been putting together for my most recent project:

Never knew how much I needed those dirty-ass concrete floor tiles, always loved the filthy and worn look of those disgusting concrete tile/brick walls. There's those small white ones as you'd see in Revilution and what not, and I love those, but those big ones, especially with the green, were sorely necessary.

That tekwall isn't bad either!

That would be lovely. I'm really craving that early 2010s texture aesthetic

The first two are one of the Doom Beta textures integrated into one of Doom 2’s Bronze textures, and a BROWN1 version based on a texture by Jimmy. The next two are edits of textures that @ItsNatureToDie did, extended to be 128 tall and with a couple modifictions. The next three also use some of ItsNatureToDie's brown marble, the next two are edits from Romero's Doom Dump, and the last four are entirely my work using the base Doom assets. Feel free to use and credit accordingly!

Dude, these are dope, i wanna see more of that marble variation.

Which one? The brown and black MARBFAC4 or the cement floor tile?

Yes! Otex is gorgeous and people make stunning maps with it, but it also lacks a lot of the grit of original and traditional Doom textures. There's something completely irreplaceable about those older styles.
