Doom builder 2 crushes

Hi, I have problems with db 1 & 2, GZdb and Doom Builder 64. it works fine for 2 minutes on 3d mode and like 5 minutes on 2d mode. Everything started to happen when my OpenGL drivers got decelerated, it worked fine but then I updated my drivers which I think accelerated Opengl, and the next day after updating them, Doom Builder started crashing. I have not found any reason for this to happen on the forums.

Hop on over to the Gz Doom Builder link posted above (if you haven't already). Max Ed (the developer) is really good about looking into errors as long as you give them enough information, namely the the log file, crash report and even post the offending WAD if it only happens to particular things.

One idea off the top of my head though: have you tried loading it with a different IWAD? Maybe even get yourself an absolutely fresh vanilla version to be 100% sure. There were a lot of errors about missing lumps in that log.

How did you install Doombuilder2?
Which version of Doombuilder2 are you using? The latest version is r1715 from ca 3 years ago.
Which version of SlimDX are you using?

You show a video where you edit deadend.wad, yet the Builder.log you posted shows 2 editing sessions,
one of TEUTIC.WAD, which is for Heretic and not for Boom, and one for PerditionsGate.

Since your problem occurs when editing deadend.wad, you should provide the log file for that editing session.

I installed DB2 just how the .exe says
DB2 version- 2.1.2.1553
SlimDX version- The one that is installed with DB2

My issue occurs to every wad I load and the log doesn't says shit about the crash.
BTW, TEUTIC is for doom 1 which I opened with doom 2 resources.

Updating it doens't work, neither running it as an administrator.
Could the problem be related to OpenGL or my drivers?

Move the editor out of C:/Program Files (x86)/ into a folder of its own, C:/MapEditor or whatever name you like.

I seem to remember that DB2 or GZDB use Direct3D and not OpenGL, but I could be wrong.

Drivers, could be, or your OS.
In Control Panel - Programs check which versions of .Net Framework, SlimDX and DirectX you have installed.

Have you tried GZDoom Builder, now at r2716, when not installed in C:/Program Files (x86)/ ?

I checked at the GZDB website and it is indeed Direct3D and not OpenGL.

    Microsoft .Net Framework 3.5
    DirectX 9.0 Runtime
    SlimDX Runtime .NET 2.0 (January 2012)

Microsoft Framework 4.5
DirectX 12
SlimDX Runtime .NET 2.0 (January 2012)


Moving it to a different folder doesn't work.

Doombuilder2:
If you want to stick with DB2 r1553, then run this installer
http://doombuilder.com/index.php?p=downloads which will install the correct
runtimes, and after that, update if you want to a more recent version of DB2.

GZDoom Builder:
If you fancy to progress to GZDoom Builder, then check the GZDB
webpage http://forum.zdoom.org/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=32392 and have a look
at the sections Required software: to install the required runtimes
manually and/or Download: to let the installer version do it for you.
After that, any dev build will work.

My recommendation is still to not installing the editor in C:/Program Files (x86)/

It doesn't work, installing the updates contain many errors!!!
One of my solutions could be to use DETH, but my PC can not run it.
