GZDoomBuilder patch - expression evaluation for sector heights

Recommended Posts

Hi,
I recently made some maps using GZDoomBuilder. I missed one small feature during the construction process so I decided to add it to the editor.

Below please find a link to the SVN patch file which will allow you to specify floor/ceiling heights as expressions:

http://www.chabowski.eu/misc/DooM/GZDoomBuilderEval/gzdoombuilder_expression_eval.patch

Take a look at the screenshots to get a feeling of what it is all about.

Awesome, I've always missed that feature. Would it be possible to omit the equals sign at the start of the expression and just detect it based on what operators are present in it? This would bring it in line with how Adobe software allows you to do the same thing in measurement input fields.

This is already available in the latest GZDB build. Without the prefix.
Thanks for the DataTable().Compute() idea, btw :)

That's a nice feature. WadAuthor had something similar: if you typed ++num or --num it took num off whatever the old value was. I was thinking of adding something like that to Eureka.

This has been in DB2 and GZDB since ever. (I know that Doom Builder came out after WadAuthor, just saying that this feature is not new to Doom Builder just now.)
