How well would a stealth element work?

I wanna try and do that using patrol points and that sort of stuff. Maybe I could make alternate versions of the first 3 Doom II maps, but with that element. But how would I make it where when a enemy shoots, more enemies are alerted? Would something like that be possible to do even?

Depends on whetger you're working for Boom and lower or ZDoom and clones. Boom might be a bit tricky, but should be perfectly doable for the latter.

I'm working with ZDoom just. I already started work on making Entryway a stealth-like map, as well as adding some extra detail and stuff.
