GZBuilder not grabbing mouse in visual mode?

Recommended Posts

Hello, I'm trying to make some maps in GZDoom builder but ever since a recent update, the 3D visual mode thingy stopped grabbing my mouse (keeping it in the center, i dont know what that's actually called) making it next to impossible to do any work since my mouse keeps going to the edges of my screen where I can't click correctly.

I tried reverting to an earlier version that I knew for sure used to work, and now older versions don't work either. I don't know if it's a bug or what but it's only happening in GZDoom Builder and I don't know if there's an option for it or something but it's driving me crazy. Please help.

Please and thank you.

I'm bumping this because I'm getting desperate. It's waaaaay too much work to try and just try and deal with it, and I really don't want to learn Doom Builder 2. I'm completely demotivated and I really don't want to map anymore until I've figured this out.

Reddit doesn't care and the people in the gzdoom builder 2.3 thread on the zdoom forums don't even care either.

GZDoom Builder is the only program that is doing this, and it started after one of the updates.

please help :(

Maybe some other application with a smaller window is running and it somehow doesn't let the mouse escape its boundaries. I think this happened to me when I tried to alt+tab from some game and open GZDB.

OH MY GOD I LOVE YOU MAN

Right around the time of this update, I had realized I had a corrupted ram stick in my computer and removed it, lowering me to 6gb of ram. This was causing problems in some games I was playing, so I installed a program that let me monitor how much ram was being used at all times. And it turns out that THAT was what was causing it to not grab the mouse.

I confused it with an update because I had installed the program and the update on the same day, so I assumed it had to be because of the update. Thank you so much!!!

Cool that it helped. :) I wonder if it is ultimately a problem with that program, or maybe the author of GZDB could change something to prevent similar issues.

Generally alt-tabbing in and out of GZDB's visual mode can cause issues. It's better than it used to be but can still cause weird issues. If possible, always revert back to standard mode before changing focus to a different window.
