NightFright Posted October 19, 2017 (edited) Knowing that the year isn't over yet and hopefully a few surprises are still about to come: - Doom II: Hellscape by Chris Lutz - Moonblood by Deadwing - Rise of the Wool Ball by MSPaintR0cks - Blade of Agony Chapter 2 by Tormentor667 - TNT: Revilution by Jaws In Space, Kyka, Eris Falling et al. Scuba Steve Posted October 19, 2017 Oh for fuck sake... it's less than 2 months away! Where did the year go? 7 Share this post Link to post
Killer5 Posted October 20, 2017 (edited) In no particular order.. these are what I enjoyed the most this year I guess: Bloody Rust 2 Moonblood TNT: Revilution Counter Attack Stardate 20x7 Experiencing Nirvana Newgothic Movement 2 Edit: Need to add one more which I played a bit ago that I didn't remember the first time =x Altitude Edited October 23, 2017 by Killer5 1 Share this post Link to post
tourniquet Posted October 20, 2017 (edited) Maybe i wasn't looking hard enough but i couldn't find a single mention of Dobu's The Given so here we go. Also Killer5 as one of this years most promising newcomers. As well as Paul977 as another newcomer candidate with some great releases like Night Town & Disciples of Darkness Edited October 20, 2017 by tourniquet 5 Share this post Link to post
Phade102 Posted October 22, 2017 I'd like to nominate Dragonfly's Skulldash: Enhanced edition. I know the old version recieved a cacoward, but this new version feels like a complete different game. 4 Share this post Link to post
SP_FACE1 Posted October 23, 2017 Is the rule for nomination that the WAD was released to the idgames archive after the last Cacowards? 0 Share this post Link to post
SP_FACE1 Posted October 23, 2017 7 minutes ago, Xaser said: No, there's no /idgames requirement. Thanks, can we name any WAD that has not been previously in the Cacowards? First post doesn't list any requirements. 0 Share this post Link to post
Gez Posted October 23, 2017 It has to have been released within the year. Or late enough last year to not have given enough time for the Shadowy Cacoward Cabal™ to have reviewed it last year. So basically anything released from December 2016 to December 2017 is fair game. 3 Share this post Link to post
StormCatcher.77 Posted October 27, 2017 Void And Rainbow (22 MB) by Serious_MOod. A map with exellent visuals and gameplay, including new boss. At this moment available only on Doom Power. See screens in the thread. 3 Share this post Link to post
SleepyVelvet Posted October 27, 2017 @StormCatcher.77 wow that's pretty I am a big fan of colorful trippy-looking stuff like this. This looks like a map that might be worth playing on nomonsters first playthrough, at least for me, probably during a relaxing, slow night too - The first monster encounter broke me out of some of my initial awe at the atmosphere. Though, from what I played so far the gameplay seems okay. I will definitely finish playing this. 0 Share this post Link to post
antares031 Posted October 29, 2017 Here are my mentionations, before I forget to write one, in alphabetical order: - Counterattack by Mechadon - lilith.pk3 by anotak - Moonblood by Deadwing - Rise of the Wool Ball by MSPaintR0cks - The Given by dobu gabu maru - High Noon Drifter for best gameplay mod - Run For It! for mockaward (I already mentioned this one quite a long ago, but just in case) 0 Share this post Link to post
Battore Posted October 30, 2017 I vote for (in this order): 3-Oscillation https://www.doomworld.com/forum/topic/96985-oscillation-a-9-map-boom-wad-on-idgames/ 2-Disjunction https://www.doomworld.com/forum/topic/90607-disjunction-small-mapset-project-released-1722017-on-idgames/ 1-Redemption of the slain https://forum.zdoom.org/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=55443 0 Share this post Link to post
NuclearPotato Posted October 30, 2017 Nth's to lilith.pk3, Redemption of the Slain, and Moonblood (probably my personal favorite of the year) for the Cacos. Gameplay mods have some fairly stiff competition this year, but I'll give a nod to Final Doomer just for the idea of designing a weapon set around a level set in general, let alone tried and true sets like Plutonia and TNT. 0 Share this post Link to post
GregLafitte Posted November 3, 2017 I would like to mention the wad called Castlevania: Simon's Destiny 5 Share this post Link to post
