TwinBeast Posted February 16, 2018 When I was a child, I used to be afraid of the dark. And then later I was more afraid of when it was too bright. Maybe now I'm not afraid of either. 1 Share this post Link to post

Same, and I also used to be plagued by nightmares in my early years, almost every single one ending the same way. I'm just so glad they suddenly stopped at some point after I grew up. Other people experience a great deal of things in their dreams, but me? Well, I was never lucky enough to experience something pleasant... I don't recall ever being able to control myself in them either, they felt like I was living in a movie and everything was pre-programmed. I am no longer afraid of the dark these days however, in fact it's quite the opposite. I also fit very well under this definition. Edited February 17, 2018 by Agent6 1 Share this post Link to post
DesecratorJ Posted February 17, 2018 I also was afraid of the dark as a child, I couldn't sleep in total blackness, I needed a light source somewhere to make me feel secure. By growing up living more in the night, I began to like the obscurity when outside, today I really like going out for a walk and stuff in the night. 2 Share this post Link to post
SuperArjunaButt Posted February 17, 2018 I almost accidentally elected myself to a local government committee. It was a "the top X vote getters get the seats" type election, and only one name was on the ballot. I wrote myself in, and lost by 4 votes. 1 Share this post Link to post

Pretty much the same, if there was no lamp or something turned on in the room before going to bed I couldn't sleep, or just try to fall asleep immediately. An odd fact, around that time I was also afraid of looking into mirrors. Every time I went to the bathroom at night I used to put one of my arms around the face so that I could see only what was right in front of me (toilet in this case) and nothing around. This is something I can't explain, never been able to figure out what made me so afraid of them. Night time is great for walking, especially during spring and summer when the nights are conveniently warm, or for doing something you enjoy in general. Quiet and liberating, hearing the sound of leaves being moved or blown by the wind, but you can get pretty much the same or a similar experience during autumn and winter as well, if not even more. I've sit down on benches on alleys full of trees in the park nearby a couple of times during the last autumn and it's amazing to look at the endless ocean of stars between the empty arms of the trees when the time is right. 2 Share this post Link to post
Battle_Korbi Posted February 17, 2018 (edited) Currently thinking about making Doom maps that follow floor maps of real-life houses and mansions to the exact point, in a 1:1 scale, then filling those maps with monsters, ammo and all things Doomy. An idea I don't want to make a thread of is what I wanna ask: Do you think, that, if you ever are given a floor map of a modern spacious house, that you could make a good Doom map out of it? Could you make an entire megawad with using real life floor maps as a base for the maps themselves? If so, boys we have another community project :D Relating to the topic: I never was really afraid of the dark, just was afraid the "unknown things lurking in the dark", but I kinda grew out of it I guess. I still love having light rather than darkness; you see, a lot of stuff I can do get "halted" by a sudden lack of light, and I prefer to dodge the "screen" whenever possible. When its night, its night, and it's time to get some sleep, even if it is maximum 6 hours due to exams fucking me up :( 1 Share this post Link to post

I'm far sighted and my left eye is weaker than my right and when I take my glasses off and close my right eye that is sort of but not really what it looks like. Google needs to work on the kinks of their pornography detection algorithm if it's just as reliable as someone deliberately worsening their eyesight in order to make something that isn't naughty vaguely resemble something naughty. 3 Share this post Link to post

I always make sure that I am looking at someone while I'm speaking to them. I don't think it's necessary to look at someone when you're not the one talking. Unless one or both of us are doing something else while we are speaking; it's probably not the best idea to turn and look at someone I'm conversing with while driving... 1 Share this post Link to post
