Texture Extravaganza CP [beta 7 out] [LOOKING FOR SECRET LEVELS!]

I took over this CP from DoomLover234, so here's the new thread!

The idea of this community project is that every participant is limited to 4 wall textures and 4 floor ones (plus a couple more, but that's not the point). That restriction forces them to think differently, more abstractly, more focused on the gameplay than on the super-mega-hyper overdetailing.

Rules:

(somewhat outdated)

The textures are selected using jmickle66666666's generator by me.
You claim a mapslot, wait until I get you some random textures (shouldn't be more than 3 days), and make a map.

You have to post about progress on your map at least once in 2 months, or else your mapslot will be taken away. I will notify you some time before that, though.

The number you claim is NOT your mapslot, just a map number. The maps' order will be discussed later.
However, you may explicitly claim MAP15, if your map includes a secret exit.

Other than what jmickle gives you, you are allowed to use:
- F_SKY1
- DOORTRAK or DOORSTOP, make a choice
- any generalized door texture (BIGDOOR*, DOOR*, whatever)
- any switch texture (but only one!)
Also, if you get a door texture in the selector, you may only use that door texture. You do get an extra texture of your choice though, to be fair.

Compatibility is Boom, all maps must play properly in PrBoom+ -complevel 9.
IWAD is Doom 2.

Skies:
You may use custom skies, but add them using sky transfers! (action 271)
No replacing RSKY patches, no MAPINFO, just plain sky transfers!

Music:
Any MIDI goes, but you must specify the source.

As of 01.07.2017, there are 24 completed maps.

 

Secret levels:

Anyone can make one, but you have to tell me what exact gimmick you have in mind for it. A PM is ok.

And no, just a generic slaughtermap that is special only because it's in the 31-st slot is NOT good. They're called "secret" for a reason.

I'll think of something if there are more than 2 maps submitted.

 

After that goes map ordering and testing, afterwards... well I don't know, we'll see!

@NeedHealth: ooohhhh... 31! I'll give you the textures later today. If your idea isn't something weird-ass deserving a secret slot, it'd be better if you took 28. I intend to deal with the secrets later on, but if the level turns out great, sure, why not.

Upon seeing this thread i made a second push to try and get something going for this but i still haven't really come up with anything i think is particularly nice, so will withdraw from this CP i think - sorry.

Actually, I'm considering wrapping this up when (if?) it reaches 20 maps or so. If there are more, cool then, but I won't strive for a full 32-level megawad, as it's gonna take years.

Well, my map became a RL only map, as in the only weapon available to the player. And a chainsaw. for good measure.... It is pretty varied still. so I'll let you decide if it is weird. The main problem is the player in question who will come to this map with other weapons, but I've tried to mitigate that.

If the map is "good"? I'm to modest to say that :P
Oh and currently I am using SP_FACE1 as a sky texture. Yeah, that's about it.

^I'm still waiting on you to tell me what textures I can use. My map is like 90% done with basic layout because I couldn't wait when I had so many ideas cropping up in my head it was not funny.

Hey now, I wasn't really sparkling with joy either, yet I made a map. :)
Your textures really aren't the worst possible set. Only SLIME09 and PANEL4 particularly stick out of the other ones IMO. I think you could make something decent.
And don't forget, you can choose a door and a switch.
