Put little kids in commercials=sell commercials

Recommended Posts

It may be me, but I find it strangely insulting whenever some commercial pops up on the TV with some doe-eyed little kid there selling the company's product. It's almost as though the company in question is using the little kid for nothing but to sell stuff.

<insert semi-serious discussion here>

I've barely seen any kids in the selling commercials. The only product I see with kids are toy commericials. The only other kid related commerical is the 1800-APPROVE commerical when the little girl is yelling out the number.

The zoom-zoom kid is stalking me. i saw him the other day. freaked me out.

Anyway, childacting is the best way to get into the biz; why, about 5% of such kids get a walk-on part in a film within 10 years!

And about 50% eventually get a starring role in a porno! Ever look up child actors on IMDb? It's funny! :D

My 2 favorite Commercials:

1. The Terminex commercial, which looks like another commercial, but a roach is crawling on the screen. I like any commercial that gives old men heart attacks and causes people to throw their remote at the TV.

2. A sprite commercial that looks like a juice commercial, and the family freaks out and runs in terror when the mascot jumps off of the bottle.

I like the new Snickers commercial, where this guy gets a phone call at 6 AM from Cleveland. He goes aaaalll the way there, walks in the office where the telemarketer is still talking on the phone to the phone at the other end (now with no one responding), and proceeds to yank the phone and smash it into tiny, bite sized pieces.

Isn't that what we all would like to do to those people? Maybe, juuuusst maybe, they will finally get the idea that we don't want any and we never will!

That commercial is so funny. That's my favorite too.

What really gets my goat is the commercial that comes on talking about a movie that was released two weeks ago, and at the end, you hear "In Theaters Now!" Well, duh. It's only been two weeks!

All commercials are annoying. They are the government's way of tuning average americans into zombies, as if the average american wasn't already brain dead.

I love how they run gambling addiction help ads right next to the state lotto ads. the government throws it right in our face and no one notices.

A good reason why people prefer DVDs over VHS. VHS has commericials, DVDs dont. :D

In the UK commercials are only aired every 15 minutes, I think it's around every 5 mins in US ain't it? Used to be 3 in a one hour show, but now that's changed to 4, bastards!

While my uncle was still in the army, he was station in Panama, where they show shows uninterupted and past midnight until 5 they show nothing but commercials.

I think it's closer to 7 to 10 minutes, but I'm not anal enough to sit down and time it. Of course, the trade-off for fewer commercial breaks is longer commercial breaks, and long stretches of commercials between programs. Which I guess is good if you need to run to the restroom. ;)

Really? When I put a DVD in my PS2 it goes strait to the movie! :D

Depends on the DVD. Recent ones force you to watch commercials before you even get to the main menu. They even disable the fraggin' Next Chapter function, but not the Fast Forward function thank Dog.

Invader Zim has a great format. Only one REALLY long commercial break in the middle of the episode. Makes it perfect for copying.

Half an hour-long shows are actually 22 minutes long. One hour-long are 45 minutes long. You do the math.
