aussj4link Posted February 22, 2017 This might sound like a weird question but is there any way to alter the hit points of things like barrels and monsters? I'd like to make barrels take only one shot to blow up if possible. Thanks! 0 Share this post Link to post
Edward850 Posted February 22, 2017 Dirt easy. It's almost as simple as deciding just how you want to change it, and those 3 aren't even the only ways. 0 Share this post Link to post
aussj4link Posted February 22, 2017 I'm using GZDoom Builder. What would be the easiest way? 0 Share this post Link to post
ZZYZX Posted February 22, 2017 To get SLADE: http://slade.mancubus.net/index.php?page=downloads Also, it really depends on what port you are targeting. If it's GZDoom, then use DECORATE and/or ZScript. If it's Eternity, then use EDF. If it's anything else or you want to cover as many ports as possible, then use Dehacked. 0 Share this post Link to post
aussj4link Posted February 22, 2017 I have quite a bit of work done currently in GZDoom Builder. Would I have to start over? 0 Share this post Link to post
Edward850 Posted February 22, 2017 Start over? You don't need to start over a map to change damage values at all, they are two completely independent tasks. Further more, Doom builder isn't a lump editor, it's a map editor. Slade is a lump editor, and there is absolutely no reason why you can't use both to edit a single project, or even multiple map editors. Especially in cases like ZDCMP1, which was made with pretty much almost every map editor in existence (that supported the ZDoom Hexen format) at the time. What you can't do is have them both editing the same wad at once, which would discard changes between each-other (or worse, corrupt the contents). 0 Share this post Link to post
ZZYZX Posted February 22, 2017 I think SLADE has this feature: It will open DB2/GZDB with this map, provide it the containing resource automatically to include in resource list, and watch for map changes to archive them back into the initial wad. The only downside to this is that DBS won't persist from what I know. 0 Share this post Link to post
scifista42 Posted February 22, 2017 The wad format and the map format(s) are not tied to any particular editors. You can edit a wad or map in one editor, then close it in that editor, open it in another editor and edit it further, close it, open and edit it in yet another editor and so on. This is completely normal. 0 Share this post Link to post
