The consensus choice as first punk rock song ever recorded -- apparently being more punk in the minds of many than the slightly earlier You Really Got Me, by The Kinks -- first released in November, 1964, I give you, straight outta Tacoma, Washington, The Sonics!

There was another kickass band from Tacoma back in the '60s called The Fabulous Wailers, who in this song produced IMO one of the funnest, most rockin', and most danceable tunes of the era.
