Changing Super Shotgun's texture [SOLVED]

Recommended Posts

The PSX Final DooM's super shotgun texture looks fantastic & I want to know how to change it.

I tried Slade by using the texture of Super Shotgun from Threshold of Pain by placing the graphics lumps into my map but after I tried the map, there is still a default texture.

Any suggestions?

Give the new sprites the same names as the normal SSG sprites (starting with SSG2), and they should override the official sprites when your wad is loaded.

Firstly, weapon graphics are not textures, but sprites.

Secondly, sprites within a wad must be placed between sprite markers - lumps named S_START and S_END - so that the engine finds them.

If I remember correctly, Threshold of Pain only replaces 3 sprite images of the super shotgun, SHT2A0, SHT2I0 and SHT2J0. The rest are unaffected. Just replace those 3 sprites.

By 'Just replace those 3 sprites' I mean place them into your map.

Do not touch the IWAD DooM2.wad

Just replacing it won't work. Like scifista42 said, you have to put markers or lumps for the sprites in between. S_START & S_END.
