Yeah, they're very 'bubbly'. Although in red, they might work for new lava. Slowed down in brown, maybe mud pits.

Yeah, brown for mud, definitely. I had something similar I think and if you had some popping bubbles, it might go for mud.

Since Heretic and Hexen feature the chaos device i would like to request textures prominently featuring the symbol of chaos from the Elric of Melnibone books.

(The symbol could work as another Heretic/Hexen equivalent to Doom's pentagram and upside down cross to coincide with the Serpent Rider trident.)

It's also used on Heretic's teleportation pads; so it seems to be specifically associated with teleportation in these games.

They look to me more like a membrane or a gelatinous surface with something writhing or poking at it from beneath, which makes me wonder how they'd look in a fleshy pink or something.  Probably not as appropriate for Heretic/Hexen, but could be wonderfully creepy for Doom.

Decided to go back to the texture above and make the wood like like it's set in the material, like wattle & daub. Which looks better, the old or new?

@whirledtsar Probably the revised one but you would have to see it in a map to be sure, the black lines around the beams might be too strong.

I have a strongly held belief that a small number of thin border textures like this would make most of heretics textures 200% more usable

Engaging in some thread necromancy here (after a long period of dormancy myself), hopefully people are fine with it. Mostly they are lazy recolors but I think people will appreciate them.

Please do! It's nice to see it active again. Any textures/decorations posted here are useful and fulfilling the purpose of the thread, so I don't think it should be considered necromancy.

It is nice to see it necrobumped, yesterday I actually downloaded all those neat forcefield graphic you posted on page 2 (i think) and they looked great in-game, thank you for these!

 

Still would love to see one big compilation for the stuff that's been posted here.

There really isn't much as far as lift/elevator graphics in any of the major Heretic/Hexen packs, unless you are willing to get really creative, but these feel obvious and should work great! How about a 64x64 flat version for the center 'blocks' texture?

Soo, this is little edit of heretic sky1 to make mountains grassy, og was too brown for my current project


+ Separated Icy mountains, i didn't find compatible sky, and og one kinda blends with them. Hence here's cut out of mountans, should be usefull for someone. (Both seamless)
