What does Zdoom do better than GzDoom?

Reading the replies here, it appears that running GZDoom is software mode unless I want openGL visuals for whatever reason gives the best of both worlds.  I kind of care about low ceilings eating heads though decided it's a small sacrifice to have access to Pirate Doom and other GZDoom exclusives.

 

Downloaded GZDoom 2.4.0 and still looking for an in-game option to change to software rendering. (I run it via command line).  Will keep looking since I've only spent about 10 minutes searching so far.

Software rendering is vid_renderer 0; OpenGL is vid_renderer 1. If you don't use the startup box to set it, then you have to set it in the console, quit, and restart for the change to take effect.

The menu option is not present in 2.4.0, but will be in the next release.

I was shooting for next weekend but there's a few things left to sort out first.
