If you were at my South Riding, Virginia LANparty in the early 2000s, you met my sister. She's probably easy to remember, she was the good-looking girl in the place =p

 

You might remember that she had a few kids. Well, a few years ago, an online child stalker and child pornography guy made contact with one of her now-teenage girls, and was exploiting her. My sister found out about it after a bit.

 

The guy's going to jail now. The only reason his gigantic reeking wheelchair-sitting diaper-wearing lard-ass is going to jail is because when the local police did not give a shit, my sister went all detective on his ass. If it had just been left to the local police, nothing would have come of it.

I dont know your sister, but its terrible to hear that her daughter was exploited like this.

 

I dont want to give the impression that I'm defending him, because the way he went about this is disgusting and malicious, but I read a fascinating article recently about an unfounded social misconception that paraplegics and other similarly disabled people don't have any sexual drive, which is untrue. So its likely he turned to this devious behavior because he wasn't able to get any action elsewhere.

 

I dont mean to make light of this situation of course. Its terrifying to me as an adult and friend of many parents that young women can be manipulated by these freaks. And I feel for both your sister and neice for having been involved with this. I'm also sorry the police couldn't respond sooner.

For all the joking some of us may do about parents being overprotective of their kids, (of course there's a middle ground) stuff like this is a major wake-up call that we don't live in a world where kids can just go out without supervision, and you also have to wonder how much social media sites have to do with getting these kids' faces out there to these type of sick people.

 

I, and everyone around me, got an amber alert (child abduction emergency) the other day. Scary world we live in.

 

Good to hear he's going to where he belongs, though; at least there he won't be able to hurt/exploit other children.
