Tips for dodging

Recommended Posts

I'm currently playing on Ultra violence and having a blast, but I seem to get hit a lot, even though I'm moving around constantly, do you guys have any tips? I play on PS4.

If the game had Shadow Warrior 2 style dodging, it'd be a lot of fun.

How does it work? Double-tapping like in Unreal Tournament?

Shadow Warrior 2's twitch-style dodging doesn't really befit DOOM. Completely different gameplay flow.

Something like that, yes. You can dodge in the air in as well.

Don't stop moving. Try to circle strafe in a clock like fashion around and arena, or a piece of an arena you wish to keep as a safe zone if possible.

Keep your volume at a decent level so you can hear key sound effects to warn you of an incoming attack, If you've a decnt sound set up you'll hear exactly where they are at and can dodge the attack blind, allowing you to focus down key threats. Rarely is it a great idea to come straight at an enemy, coming in at Diagonals helps immensely with dodging projectile attacks.

Always try to change your elevation, jump up and over boxes and other environmental props when moving as it will most likely cause the enemy to miss.
